The smaller, folk body of the LS6 gives a sweet tone perfectly suited to fingerstyle playing or recording. The combination of premium woods and unique L-Series construction features makes this a smaller guitar with a larger than life sound.
The LS body design reduces the overall volume of the guitar and emphasises the midrange response, creating a sound that’s smooth, rich, clear and perfect for a more subtle tone than the larger-bodied LL and LJ guitars. L-Series standard specification of solid Engelmann spruce top and rosewood back and sides ensures the perfect balance and outstanding clarity together with great looks. Construction features unique to the L-Series include an enlarged neck block for greater stability and better low frequency response, a 3-ply laminated vintage ‘V’ profile neck for ultra-comfortable feel and rich tone and a redesigned 90degree non-scalloped bracing pattern to give the perfect controlled, modern acoustic sound.
A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha.
Through precise controll of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.
New Designed Bracing Pattern
A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series’ characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone.
High Comfortable Traditional Neck Profile
A re-evaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today’s traditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.
New 5-ply neck designs are constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies. The design integrates the neck, head, and body into a single unit creating a powerful, rich sound. This approach also creates a strong, stable neck that resists twisting and warping.
The small-bodied LS has a long history with Yamaha. Featuring excellent tonal balance it delivers a big, confident sound for its size. Its delicate sound is highly recommended for finger-style guitarists.
