Practical Furniture Finish

This compact cabinet piano is very practical for modern living. It has a durable matt black finish, triple pedal unit integrated and a removable wooden music rest. The white keys feature an off-white patina similar to ivory keys. There’s no display to detract from the appearance, keeping the lines clean and simple.

Detailed, Nuanced Sound

The RP-102 features Roland’s SuperNATURAL technology which provides a realistic and dynamic playing experience. As you press the keys harder you’ll notice more detail in the response than instruments which rely on samples only. There’s no sample looping on this instrument, so you’ll never hear the bass notes warbling.

There’s four SuperNATURAL modelled piano sounds available with 11 other sounds (including E.Pianos, Strings, Organs and Synth Pads) you’ll want to use regularly available from the panel. For those delving into songwriting or arrangements, there are 304 other sounds available to select through the free Piano Partner 2 app which runs on your favourite smart device.

With 128 note polyphony, you’ll be playing everything from the most complex classical pieces to the latest pop hits.

Real Feel & Control

When you sit at the RP-102 and start playing you’ll immediately feel at home with the high-quality PHA4 action. This action features individual key weights which are graduated across the full length of the keyboard. Compare this to other similarly priced products and you’ll notice the difference. When you press very gently on the keys you’ll feel the escapement in the action and you’ll have full control thanks to the ivory feel coating on the keys. This absorbs moisture from your fingertips, keeping you moving with precision.

Combined with the SuperNATURAL sound engine, the PHA4 action found on the RP-102 delivers every nuance demanded by the most accomplished players.

Connect, Learn, Play

Even at this entry level price point, the RP-102 is packed with the latest technology. Bluetooth MIDI enables connections to your favourite smart device and a plethora of apps. Roland themselves produce the Piano Partner 2 app which is completely free to download and use. With PP2 you can have greater control of the instrument, selecting from any of the 319 on board sounds by name, layering any two together or splitting across the keyboard for more advanced performances. You can play along to interactive accompaniments which follow your performance, giving melodic and rhythmic accompaniment to your playing. There’s ear training games to really help you develop your musical instincts and a practice diary to keep track of your progress.

Roland’s Piano Designer app lets you customise the modelled piano tones to your taste, adjusting parameters such as the lid position, hammer response, string and damper resonance.

There are many third party apps to help with learning or recording or even just having more fun with the instrument.
