The 1980s Tokai Bumblebee is a Japanese-made superstrat-style guitar inspired by iconic hard-rock designs of the era. It features a solid body, constructed from ash, with a bolt-on maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is outfitted with a humbucker at the bridge and a tremolo bridge system, offering the versatility and playability demanded by rock and shred styles of the period.

This example has been modified with a black pickguard, giving it a more contemporary and understated appearance compared to the original Bumblebee stripe design. The body shape and hardware layout remain true to the original, preserving its classic tonal and ergonomic characteristics. The modifications maintain the instrument's visual appeal while enhancing its personal customisation.

The guitar is also fitted with Guyker 6 Inline Vintage Guitar Lock String Tuners, providing sealed-gear precision, a 1:15 gear ratio, and secure string anchoring. These locking tuners improve tuning stability, particularly when using the tremolo bridge, and add modern convenience to the vintage instrument. The combination of original 1980s Tokai craftsmanship with updated hardware results in a reliable, versatile instrument suitable for both collectors and active players.
