The Digidesign Eleven Rack is a rackmount guitar processing system and audio interface developed in the late 2000s as a studio and live all-in-one solution. It combines digital amp modelling, effects processing, and a multi-channel USB audio interface in a 2U rack unit designed to integrate directly with recording setups such as Pro Tools. The system runs on dedicated DSP hardware, meaning the amp and effects processing is handled internally rather than relying on a computer’s CPU, which helps reduce latency during recording and monitoring.

At its core, it features a range of amp models and cabinet simulations based on classic guitar amplifiers, along with a selection of built-in effects such as overdrive, delay, modulation, and reverb. A key design element is the True-Z input, which automatically adjusts input impedance to better match the behaviour of real guitar amps and pedals, improving feel and response when playing. It also supports re-amping workflows, allowing both processed and dry guitar signals to be recorded simultaneously for later tone changes.

Connectivity is extensive for its era, including balanced XLR outputs, 1/4-inch outputs, S/PDIF and AES/EBU digital I/O, MIDI, and a USB 2.0 interface for multichannel recording. It can function as a standalone guitar rig without a computer or as a tightly integrated recording front end with DAW software, making it a hybrid system aimed at both studio tracking and live performance use.
