Why Choose The Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster?
Classic Telecaster Tone With Additional Versatility
The defining feature of the Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster is its three-pickup configuration.
Traditional Telecasters typically feature two single-coil pickups and a three-way selector, providing bright bridge-pickup sounds and warmer neck-pickup tones.
The Nashville design expands this familiar formula with a Stratocaster-style middle pickup and five-way switching.
This gives guitarists access to additional tonal combinations, making it especially useful for musicians performing across several genres.
From traditional country picking to blues, funk, clean pop rhythm and classic rock, the Nashville Telecaster offers considerable flexibility.
Three Single-Coil Pickups
The Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster uses an SSS pickup configuration, combining traditional Telecaster-style neck and bridge positions with an additional middle pickup.
This provides five switching positions:
|
Position |
Pickup Selection |
Tonal Character |
|---|---|---|
|
1 |
Bridge |
Bright, sharp and articulate |
|
2 |
Bridge + Middle |

|
3 |

|
4 |

|
5 |

The expanded switching gives players useful options for creating contrasting sounds during live performances or recording sessions.
Genuine Mexican-Made Fender Construction
Manufactured in Mexico, the Deluxe Nashville Telecaster represents Fender's established approach to producing practical, performance-focused electric guitars at accessible price points.
Mexican-made Fender instruments are popular among musicians seeking authentic Fender designs without the higher cost associated with many American-made models.
The Deluxe Nashville Telecaster builds on that appeal with additional tonal flexibility.
For players upgrading from a beginner instrument, a genuine Mexican-made Fender can represent a worthwhile long-term addition to their setup.
Comfortable Traditional Telecaster Design
The Nashville Telecaster retains the familiar single-cutaway body shape and 25.5" scale length associated with Fender Telecasters.
The longer Fender scale provides a responsive playing feel and clear note definition, making it particularly suitable for country-style bends, clean rhythm work and articulate lead playing.
Its familiar control layout also makes it easy to operate during rehearsals and live performances.
Excellent For Country And Blues
The Nashville Telecaster is particularly suited to musicians who enjoy traditional country and blues guitar sounds.
The bridge pickup provides the attack and articulation associated with classic Telecaster playing, while the additional pickup combinations offer smoother textures for rhythm and melodic passages.
This is especially useful for chicken-picking techniques, double-stops, blues phrasing and expressive clean guitar playing.
Versatile For Studio Recording
The Nashville Telecaster's expanded pickup selection makes it an excellent candidate for studio work.
Different pickup combinations can help guitar parts occupy different spaces within an arrangement.
For example, bright bridge-pickup rhythm parts can complement warmer neck-pickup melodies, while intermediate pickup combinations provide contrasting textures for layered recordings.
This flexibility can reduce the need to change guitars when recording multiple parts.
A Practical Guitar For Working Musicians
The Deluxe Nashville Telecaster is well suited to musicians who require several useful sounds from one instrument.
Its uncomplicated controls and versatile pickup selection make it particularly attractive for covers bands, function musicians, session players and guitarists working across several genres.
Despite its additional electronics, the Nashville retains the straightforward approach that makes Telecasters so popular.
Excellent Value In Fair Condition
Buying a Fair Condition Fender Deluxe Nashville Telecaster can offer strong value for musicians who care more about playing performance than cosmetic presentation.
A guitar with heavier cosmetic wear may be particularly appealing for regular rehearsal use, live performance and recording, where reliability and tone often take priority over appearance.
For players who want a genuine Mexican-made Fender without paying extra for pristine cosmetics, this example offers an appealing alternative.

Why Choose A Nashville Telecaster?
The Nashville Telecaster provides an appealing compromise between two of Fender's most influential electric guitar designs.
The traditional Telecaster is celebrated for its clear, direct tone and straightforward playing feel, while the Stratocaster is known for its comfortable design and versatile three-pickup configuration.
By combining elements of both instruments, the Nashville Telecaster offers additional tonal options without abandoning the familiar Telecaster format.
This makes it particularly useful for musicians who need a guitar capable of handling several playing styles.
Country musicians can benefit from its distinctive bridge-pickup attack, blues players can explore warm and expressive lead tones, and session guitarists can make use of the intermediate pickup combinations for clean rhythm and layered arrangements.
For players seeking a genuine Fender with broad musical capabilities, the Deluxe Nashville Telecaster is a particularly strong option.

The Fender Nashville Telecaster: Heritage & Background
The Fender Telecaster first appeared in the early 1950s and quickly became one of the most influential electric guitar designs in popular music.
Its simple construction, distinctive single-coil tone and dependable playing feel helped establish it as a favourite among country, blues and rock musicians.
Over time, players began experimenting with modified Telecasters to increase their tonal versatility.
The Nashville-style Telecaster concept emerged from the requirements of working guitarists who wanted additional pickup combinations while retaining the classic Telecaster feel.
Adding a Stratocaster-style middle pickup gave the design access to a broader range of clean and driven sounds.
Fender subsequently incorporated this concept into production instruments, including the Mexican-made Deluxe Nashville Telecaster.
These guitars became popular among musicians seeking the familiar Telecaster experience with expanded switching options.
The Deluxe Nashville range has been produced in different specifications over the years, making the exact production period important when identifying the pickups, fingerboard and hardware fitted to an individual example.

The Mexican-made Deluxe Nashville Telecaster appeared in more than one specification. Earlier examples typically featured Tex-Mex pickups, 21 frets and a 9.5" fingerboard radius, while later Deluxe versions featured Vintage Noiseless pickups, 22 frets and a 12" radius.
Because the production year of this particular guitar has not been supplied, generation-specific specifications have been excluded.
Power Requirements
No power supply or battery is required. This is a passive electric guitar and only needs a standard 1/4" instrument cable and a suitable amplifier, pedalboard or audio interface.

Yes. Its traditional Telecaster bridge-pickup character and additional pickup combinations make it particularly appealing for country, Americana, blues and Nashville-style guitar playing.
What does Fair Condition mean on a used Fender guitar?
Under Fair Deal Music's grading system, Fair Condition indicates heavier cosmetic wear while the instrument remains fully operational. It is particularly suitable for musicians who prioritise playing performance over cosmetic appearance.
