Description

This Skervesen Raptor 7 is a boutique-built seven-string solid-body electric guitar featuring an ash body that provides a resonant and balanced tonal foundation. The neck is constructed from maple with ovangkol strips, offering strength and stability, and it meets a flamed maple fretboard with rosewood binding that carries 24 stainless steel frets without traditional position inlays on the face, maintaining a sleek, uninterrupted playing surface. The headstock is a still-type design that matches the body’s aesthetic and contributes to the instrument’s streamlined appearance, while the overall scale length is typically set at 25.5 inches for versatile string tension across all seven strings.

Electronics on this guitar consist of a Seymour Duncan Custom SH-5 humbucker in the bridge position and a Seymour Duncan ’59 humbucker in the neck position, each wired to a three-way pickup selector switch. In addition to the main pickup toggle, a dedicated three-way coil-split switch allows each humbucker to be split into single-coil mode, expanding the range of tonal variations available from this setup. A single master volume control is used to manage output level, with no additional tone knobs, keeping the control layout clean and focused on essential functions.

Hardware components are finished in black and include Hipshot locking tuners for enhanced tuning stability and precision, along with Dunlop strap locks to secure the instrument during performance. The guitar has a headstock break which has been glued back on, this does not effect the function. The fixed bridge is designed to support robust string anchoring and sustain, while the absence of fretboard inlays on the playing surface emphasises the minimalistic aesthetic. Built as a custom instrument in Poland, the Raptor 7 combines modern playability features with high-end components and craftsmanship typical of Skervesen’s approach to extended-range guitars.
