Quick Product Summary

The Yamaha Revstar Element RSE20 in Red Copper combines distinctive café racer-inspired styling with versatile twin-humbucker tones and comfortable modern playability. Its chambered mahogany body and set-in three-piece mahogany neck provide a resonant, substantial feel, while the 24.75-inch scale length and 22 jumbo frets make it comfortable for everything from rhythm work to expressive lead playing.

A pair of Yamaha VH3 Alnico V humbuckers provides plenty of warmth, punch and definition, with Yamaha’s push/pull Dry Switch adding a brighter, tighter tonal option without conventional coil splitting. Finished in rich Red Copper with a contrasting black three-ply pickguard, the RSE20 offers a distinctive alternative to more traditional twin-humbucker electric guitars.

What Makes the Yamaha Revstar Element RSE20 Special?

The Revstar Element takes a fresh approach to the classic dual-humbucker electric guitar. Its chambered mahogany body helps keep the instrument comfortable while retaining the warmth and resonance associated with mahogany, and the set-in three-piece mahogany neck contributes to a connected, responsive playing feel. The distinctive double-cutaway Revstar shape also provides a recognisable alternative to more conventional electric guitar designs.

Yamaha equips the RSE20 with VH3 neck and bridge humbuckers using Alnico V magnets, providing enough output for driven rock tones while remaining clear and responsive for cleaner playing. Pulling the master tone control activates the Dry Switch, a passive high-pass filter that tightens the low end and adds definition while retaining the hum-cancelling characteristics of the pickups.

Who Is It For?

The Yamaha RSE20 is an excellent choice for guitarists who want the warmth and power of a dual-humbucker electric guitar without choosing one of the more traditional body shapes.

Its comfortable scale length, fixed bridge and straightforward controls make it accessible for newer players, while the set-neck construction and flexible electronics provide the performance required for rehearsing, recording and regular live use.

Particularly well suited to:

  • Rock and alternative guitarists

  • Blues players looking for warm, responsive humbucker tones

  • Indie and contemporary pop musicians

  • Players upgrading from their first electric guitar

  • Guitarists looking for a distinctive stage instrument

  • Home and studio recording

  • Players who prefer a 24.75-inch scale length

Why Choose a Dual-Humbucker Electric Guitar?

Dual humbuckers provide a strong combination of output, warmth and resistance to unwanted electrical hum. The bridge pickup gives riffs, power chords and lead parts plenty of attack and definition, while the neck pickup produces a fuller, smoother voice for clean passages, blues and melodic lead work.

The RSE20 adds extra flexibility through its Dry Switch, allowing players to tighten the low end and create a more focused sound without introducing complicated controls. This makes it particularly useful for musicians who regularly move between clean, crunch and higher-gain sounds.

Yamaha RSE20 vs Revstar Standard RSS20

The Revstar Element RSE20 is Yamaha’s accessible entry point into the Revstar family, offering the distinctive body design, chambered mahogany construction, dual humbuckers and Dry Switch in a straightforward package. The Revstar Standard RSS20 sits further up the range and adds upgraded construction, electronics and hardware features. For players primarily looking for the essential Revstar experience at a more accessible price, the RSE20 is a compelling choice.
