It uses a mahogany body with traditional weight relief and a carved maple top finished in gloss Heritage Cherry Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer. The guitar features a set mahogany neck with a rounded 50s-style profile, a rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, a 24.75-inch scale length, and 22 medium jumbo frets.

The hardware specification includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, vintage-style keystone tuners, and cream binding across the body and fingerboard. The Traditional series was introduced after Gibson redesigned the Les Paul Standard in 2008, retaining the older-style construction approach with less aggressive chambering and more classic visual appointments.
