Fair Deal Music String Drive

We have an exciting new initiative launching at Fair Deal Music. In partnership with the Guitarwrist and TerraCycle, we are setting up a recycling point in the shop for you to recycle your old strings. The recycling point will be available by our guitar technician at the back of the store. ♻️

Why should you recycle your old strings? Well over 1,500,000 strings, or around 5.5 tonnes, end up in landfill each year, and we want to do something about it. We really hope the initiative will encourage more people to recycle and also to keep using music shops, as without people using these spaces, they will die out. 

So instead of throwing your old strings away, come into the store and drop them off, and they can be recycled and made into jewellery, and help make your string change a little more guilt-free. The profits the Guitarwrist makes from making this jewellery can be reinvested into the recycling of old strings to create a circular economy and lead to less waste in landfill! 

As an extra incentive to come and recycle your old strings, we will also change your new set for FREE, provided you have a new set to put on! (We have plenty for sale if you don’t 😉). You can come in, relax, try out some new guitars or amps, and have a tea or coffee on us while you wait. So cut out the pain of changing strings, and come and unwind with us, and help make the planet a little bit greener!
