Ibanez RG7421 Standard, 7 String, Walnut Flat

If you're a metal guitarist who intends to purchase a 7-string electric guitar, but doesn't want to break the bank, then Ibanez has a great guitar for you: the RG7421. This model comes in a gorgeous Walnut Flat finish that shows off the mahogany body's beautiful wood grain. Two passive humbuckers accurately pick up your playing and allow for a great sound, while the 24 frets give you a huge tonal range. What's more, with the 5-way pickup switch you'll have a whole range of different sounds at your disposal.

To pick up and process your sound, the guitar is equipped with Quantum humbuckers, for excellent bass response and exquisitely articulate mids and trebles. Furthermore, while the volume and tone controls are fairly self-explanatory, the 5-way pickup switch may need a little clarification. In the 1st, 3rd and 5th positions, you've got the classic humbucker settings of neck, both and bridge, but it's the 2nd and 4th positions that offer something different. The second mode turns the neck pickup into two single coils, creating an almost Gretsch-like sound, while the fourth position gives you two single-coils in the centre. As you can see, you'll have plenty of options!
