The Gibson 2010 L-5 Custom is a guitar with a rich history deeply intertwined with the legacy of Gibson. Conceived by the legendary Lloyd Loar in 1923, it marked a pioneering moment in guitar design as the world's first to showcase f-holes. Initially crafted as an acoustic instrument, it later underwent electrification in the 1940s. However, it was the introduction of the L-5 CES in 1951 that truly elevated it to iconic status, winning the admiration of jazz legends for its warm, articulate, and dynamically expressive tones.

This specific 1978 L-5 CES, resided for numerous years alongside other revered vintage instruments in the Gibson Vault, is a true masterpiece. It boasts a stunning Wine Red finish, accentuated by a Venetian cutaway and a custom-inlaid headstock featuring an intricate floral design. Its construction incorporates a solid carved spruce top, a two-piece maple back, a three-piece figured maple neck, and an ebony fingerboard adorned with exquisite mother of pearl block inlays. This guitar represents not only a piece of musical history but also a work of art that embodies the timeless craftsmanship and innovation synonymous with Gibson.
