Why Choose The Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth?
Six Guitar Sounds From Clean To High Gain
The Voice control provides Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD1 and OD2 settings, giving you an immediate route into a wide range of guitar sounds without building complicated presets from scratch.
Super Wide Stereo Sound
Two separate 5-watt power sections and twin Blackstar 3-inch speakers create the Super Wide Stereo presentation that has become a defining part of the ID:CORE range. Stereo modulation, delay and reverb can sound particularly spacious when practising at home.
Bluetooth Music Playback
The Bluetooth model allows music to be streamed wirelessly from a compatible phone, tablet or other Bluetooth audio device. Put on a song or backing track and play along through the same compact stereo amplifier without connecting a separate audio cable.
12 Built-In Stereo Effects
Four modulation, four delay and four reverb effects give you a useful collection of sounds for everything from straightforward practice tones to spacious ambient patches.
USB-C Recording
The V4 platform adds modern four-channel USB-C audio, allowing the amp to become part of a computer recording setup and supporting useful recording and re-amping workflows.
Full Power Or 1W Practice Mode
Power reduction lets you switch from the amp's normal output to a 1-watt setting, making it easier to achieve comfortable practice levels when playing late at night or in smaller rooms.
Comparison Against Popular Alternatives
Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth vs ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10
The core amplifier specification is essentially the same, including 10W Super Wide Stereo output, six Voices, 12 effects, twin 3-inch speakers, USB-C and CabRig speaker processing. The key advantage of this version is Bluetooth audio playback. If you regularly practise with songs from your phone or tablet, the Bluetooth model is the more convenient choice.
Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth vs ID:CORE V4 Stereo 20
The Stereo 20 increases output to 20 watts, moves to larger twin 5-inch speakers and supports footswitch operation, making it better suited to players wanting more physical output and additional live-style control. The Stereo 10 Bluetooth is lighter, smaller and uniquely adds Bluetooth within the current ID:CORE V4 range, making it particularly strong for bedroom and desktop practice.
Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth vs Fender Mustang LT25
The Fender Mustang LT25 takes a different approach with a 25-watt output, single 8-inch speaker, colour display and larger library of amp models and effects. It is a strong option for players who want extensive preset choice. The Blackstar is smaller and focuses on an immediate six-Voice control system, Super Wide Stereo effects and Bluetooth backing-track playback.
Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth vs BOSS Katana-Mini X
The Katana-Mini X is another 10-watt Bluetooth practice amplifier, but uses a single 5-inch speaker and BOSS's analogue Tube Logic-inspired gain design rather than Blackstar's programmable digital Voice system. The BOSS also offers an internal rechargeable battery, while the Blackstar stands out through its twin-speaker Super Wide Stereo design, USB-C audio interface functionality and deeper computer-based editing.
Who Is The Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth For?
The ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth is particularly well suited to:
-
Beginners buying their first proper electric guitar amplifier
-
Experienced guitarists wanting a compact home practice amp
-
Players who regularly practise along with songs or backing tracks
-
Guitarists who want built-in effects without buying separate pedals
-
Home recording musicians
-
Players who want headphone practice
-
Students who need a portable amp for lessons or bedrooms
-
Guitarists looking for clean, crunch and high-gain sounds in one amplifier
-
Content creators wanting straightforward phone and computer recording options
Its combination of simple physical controls and deeper software editing also means it can grow with a player rather than becoming limiting once they move beyond their first few guitar sounds.
Suitable Genres & Playing Styles
The six Blackstar Voices cover a broad range of music.
Clean Warm works well for mellow cleans, jazzier sounds and pedal-friendly tones, while Clean Bright adds extra clarity for pop, funk and articulate rhythm playing.
Crunch and Super Crunch move naturally into blues, indie, classic rock and heavier rhythm guitar, while OD1 and OD2 provide the additional saturation required for hard rock and modern metal practice.
Adding modulation, delay and reverb further expands the range, making this a genuinely versatile little amplifier rather than a one-sound beginner combo.
What Does Blackstar's ISF Control Do?
Blackstar's patented ISF β Infinite Shape Feature β control lets you change the overall character of the amplifier without requiring a conventional multi-band EQ.
Turned towards one end, the response becomes tighter and more American-influenced in character. Moving towards the other end produces a warmer, more British-style response with a different midrange feel.
For a new guitarist, this makes tone shaping remarkably straightforward. Choose the Voice that is closest to the sound you want, set the gain level, and then use ISF to fine-tune the overall character.
Why Is Super Wide Stereo Useful On A Practice Amp?
Many compact practice amplifiers use a single speaker, which works well for straightforward guitar tones but cannot create true physical separation between stereo effects.
The ID:CORE uses two speakers and separate stereo amplification, allowing modulation, delay and reverb effects to spread across the cabinet. At close listening distances, this can make ambient tones and delays feel substantially wider and more immersive.
It is particularly useful when playing along with stereo music through Bluetooth because both your backing track and effects can take advantage of the twin-speaker layout.
Bluetooth Practice & Playing Along With Songs
The Bluetooth version of the ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 is designed to make practising alongside music as simple as possible.
Pair a compatible Bluetooth audio device with the amplifier and you can stream songs, backing tracks, lesson audio or other music directly through the ID:CORE's stereo speakers while playing guitar through the amplifier at the same time.
This removes the need for a separate Bluetooth speaker and makes the amp particularly convenient for learning songs by ear, online lessons and regular practice sessions.
Recording, Livestreaming & Content Creation
Four-Channel USB-C Audio
USB-C connectivity allows the ID:CORE V4 to operate as a computer audio interface. Blackstar's four-channel implementation supports low-latency recording and useful re-amping workflows, making the amp more capable in a home studio than a simple analogue practice combo.
Direct-To-Phone Audio
The V4 platform also provides direct-to-device audio using a suitable 3.5mm TRRS connection with a compatible smartphone or tablet.
This provides a simple route for recording videos, audio and livestream content while capturing the amplifier signal directly rather than relying entirely on the phone's built-in microphone.
Architect Software
Blackstar's free Architect software provides deeper editing and patch management when the amplifier is connected to a compatible computer.
It also gives access to CabRig Lite, allowing greater control over the cabinet-simulated sound used for recording and headphone monitoring.
CabRig Lite & Headphone Practice
Plugging headphones into a basic guitar amplifier can sometimes sound very different from listening to the amplifier's speaker because the natural filtering of a guitar cabinet is no longer present.
Blackstar's CabRig speaker simulation addresses this by applying cabinet-style processing to the headphone and recording signal.
This makes silent practice more natural and also gives you a more finished guitar sound when recording directly rather than having to add speaker simulation later.
Six Patch Locations
The ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 provides six patch locations, allowing useful sounds to be stored and recalled.
For example, you could keep dedicated clean, crunch, lead and ambient sounds ready for different songs without needing to recreate every effect and amplifier setting each time you practise.
The straightforward front-panel controls also mean you do not have to rely on presets; the amp remains easy to operate manually when you simply want to plug in and play.
Built-In Chromatic Tuner
A built-in tuner means there is no need to reach for a separate pedal or clip-on tuner every time you start practising.
Having tuning built into the amp is particularly useful for beginners assembling their first setup because it removes another accessory from the list of essentials.
Portable Power With The Blackstar PB-1
The ID:CORE V4 can also be powered using the compatible Blackstar PB-1 PowerBank, providing an option for playing away from a normal mains socket.
This gives the compact amp additional flexibility for practice spaces, travelling and situations where convenient access to mains power is limited.
Story & Context
The ID:CORE series was developed around the idea that a programmable practice amplifier should still feel straightforward to use. Rather than requiring new players to learn a complex editing system before getting a good sound, Blackstar built the range around familiar Gain and Volume controls alongside its six-position Voice selector and ISF tone shaping.
Successive generations have expanded the recording and software side of the platform while retaining that basic hands-on approach.
The V4 generation places greater emphasis on modern connectivity, introducing USB-C recording, CabRig Lite speaker simulation, direct-to-phone audio and power reduction alongside the established Super Wide Stereo effects architecture.
The Bluetooth Stereo 10 adds another practical home-use feature by allowing wireless backing-track and music playback, giving this version a particularly strong focus on everyday practice.

Fair Deal Music Verdict π΅
β β β β β 5/5
The Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth is one of those practice amps that makes a lot of sense because the features genuinely support everyday playing. Six Voices and 12 effects provide plenty of tonal variety, while the stereo speaker system gives delays, reverbs and backing tracks an impressively spacious presentation for an amp of this size.
The addition of Bluetooth is particularly worthwhile. Being able to pick up your guitar, connect your phone wirelessly and immediately practise along with a track removes one more barrier between wanting to play and actually playing.
USB-C recording, CabRig, headphone practice, direct-to-phone audio and the 1W setting also mean it offers much more long-term usefulness than a basic first amplifier.
Best suited for: Beginners, home players and guitarists wanting a compact Bluetooth practice and recording amp.
Customers usually upgrade from: Basic single-channel beginner amplifiers or small analogue practice combos without effects and recording connectivity.
Most commonly paired with: Electric guitars, studio headphones, USB-C recording setups and the optional Blackstar PB-1 PowerBank.
Our tip: Start with the effects switched back and explore the six Voices and ISF control first. Once you understand the core sounds, adding stereo delay, modulation and reverb becomes much easier and helps you learn how individual effects change your tone.
Showroom feedback: The combination of straightforward controls and genuinely useful modern features makes the Stereo 10 Bluetooth particularly easy to recommend as a first amp, but there is enough recording and editing functionality here to keep it useful well beyond the beginner stage.

Can I connect Bluetooth headphones to the amp?
The Bluetooth feature is intended for wireless audio playback into the amplifier. For silent guitar practice, use the amplifier's dedicated wired headphone output.
Is 10 watts enough for home practice?
Yes. The Stereo 10 is designed specifically around home and practice use. It also includes a 1W reduced-power setting when you need even lower listening levels.
Can I use effects at the same time?
The ID:CORE provides separate modulation, delay and reverb sections, allowing you to build more developed sounds than you would get from an amplifier with only one basic effect.
Can I record the Blackstar ID:CORE V4 directly to a computer?
Yes. USB-C connectivity provides four-channel USB audio functionality for recording and re-amping with compatible computer software.
Is it suitable for complete beginners?
Yes. One of the ID:CORE's biggest advantages is its straightforward control system. A beginner can simply choose one of the six Voices, adjust Gain and Volume and use the ISF control to shape the tone without needing to understand complicated menus.
Can I practise silently with headphones?
Yes. The headphone connection uses Blackstar's speaker-simulation technology to provide a more natural direct guitar sound for silent practice.
Does it have a tuner built in?
Yes. A chromatic tuner is integrated into the amplifier, reducing the need for a separate tuning device during everyday practice.
Can I edit sounds from a computer?
Yes. Blackstar Architect software provides deeper editing and patch-management options as well as access to CabRig Lite speaker-simulation settings.
Is the Bluetooth version worth choosing over the standard Stereo 10?
If you regularly practise alongside music from a phone or tablet, the Bluetooth model is particularly convenient because it removes the need to connect an audio cable. The core guitar amp features remain familiar to the standard V4 Stereo 10.
Can I use the ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 for recording guitar videos?
Yes. Alongside USB-C computer recording, the V4 platform supports direct-to-device audio through a suitable TRRS connection with compatible phones and tablets, making it useful for video recording and livestream applications.
Is this amp suitable for gigging with a drummer?
Its primary role is home practice and recording rather than loud band performance. Players who need significantly greater rehearsal or live volume should choose an amplifier designed for those environments.
Can I run the amp without a mains socket?
Yes, when used with the compatible optional Blackstar PB-1 PowerBank. This can make the ID:CORE V4 a useful portable practice solution.
The Blackstar ID:CORE V4 Stereo 10 Bluetooth Guitar Combo combines the simplicity required from a great practice amp with enough recording, effects and connectivity features to remain useful as your playing develops. For beginners, home players and anyone who wants an easy way to practise along with music without filling the room with extra equipment, it is a particularly strong compact Blackstar option.
