What Makes The DOD Badder Monkey Special?

The Badder Monkey is much more than a straight reissue of the original DOD Bad Monkey.

DOD has retained the core Bad Monkey circuit but added two additional drive voices. The lower-gain Behaved circuit provides cleaner and more restrained overdrive, while Badder provides more gain and saturation when you want a harder-edged sound.

Bad

This is the circuit inspired by the original DOD Bad Monkey.

Badder

Badder increases the available gain for a more aggressive overdrive and distortion character.

It works particularly well for heavier rhythm parts, saturated lead sounds and players who want more drive without adding another pedal to the board.

360° Barrel Control

The Barrel Control is one of the Badder Monkey's defining features.

Rather than simply switching between three circuits, the rotating control lets you move between and blend:

This parallel blending creates a wide range of intermediate sounds, allowing you to balance cleaner articulation against heavier saturation.

Troop Mode

Flips the Bad circuit out of phase, creating different frequency cancellations and more unusual harmonic textures when circuits are blended.

Centre – Troop Mode

Grunt & Screech EQ

The Badder Monkey retains the useful two-band tonal shaping associated with the original design.
