DOD FX65 Stereo Chorus Pedal – Used
Description
Quick Product Summary
The DOD FX65 Stereo Chorus is a vintage analogue chorus pedal known for its lush modulation, simple three-control layout and genuine stereo capability.
This used example is in Good condition, with cosmetic signs of previous ownership and regular pedalboard use. Independent Speed, Delay Time and Depth controls provide plenty of flexibility, ranging from gentle widening and traditional chorus through to deeper, more pronounced modulation.
What Makes the DOD FX65 Stand Out?
Classic Analogue Chorus
The FX65 uses an analogue bucket-brigade delay circuit to create its chorus effect, mixing a short, continuously modulated delay with the original instrument signal for a warm and dimensional sound.
Three Independent Controls
Unlike simpler two-knob chorus pedals, the FX65 gives you control over Speed, Delay Time and Depth, allowing the fundamental character of the modulation to be shaped in greater detail.
Genuine Stereo Operation
Dual outputs allow the effected signal to be spread across two amplifiers or stereo signal paths, creating a broader and more immersive chorus effect.
Vintage DOD Character
Produced during DOD's classic compact-pedal era, the FX65 has developed a following among players looking for characterful analogue modulation with a distinctly vintage response.
Who Is It For?
The DOD FX65 is ideal for guitarists looking for warm, vintage analogue chorus rather than ultra-clean modern digital modulation.
It works particularly well for rock, alternative, indie, funk, new wave, clean rhythm guitar and atmospheric textures, while its stereo outputs make it especially useful for dual-amp rigs.

FAQs
What type of effect is the DOD FX65?
The FX65 is an analogue stereo chorus pedal designed to add width, movement and depth to an instrument signal.
Is the FX65 an analogue chorus?
Yes. It uses an analogue bucket-brigade delay circuit to generate its chorus effect.
What controls does it have?
The FX65 provides Speed, Delay Time and Depth controls.
What does the Speed control do?
Speed adjusts how quickly the chorus modulation cycles.
What does the Delay Time control do?
Delay Time adjusts the centre point of the short delay used to create the chorus effect, changing the overall character of the modulation.
What does the Depth control do?
Depth determines how widely the delay time is modulated, ranging from subtle movement to a more pronounced chorus effect.
Can it produce subtle chorus sounds?
Yes. Lower Depth settings and carefully adjusted Speed settings can create gentle widening and movement.
Can it produce deeper modulation?
Yes. Higher Depth and Speed combinations can produce much stronger, more noticeable modulation.
Is the DOD FX65 stereo?
Yes. The FX65 was designed for stereo operation and can be connected to two amplifiers or separate stereo signal paths.
Does stereo operation make a noticeable difference?
Yes. Running the chorus across two amplifiers can create a significantly wider and more spacious modulation effect.
Is it suitable for clean guitar?
Yes. Analogue chorus works particularly well with clean arpeggios, chords and rhythm parts where the modulation can remain clearly defined.
Can it be used with distorted guitar?
Yes. The FX65 can also add movement and width to overdriven or distorted sounds.
Does it use true bypass?
No. The FX65 uses buffered bypass.
Can it run from a battery?
Yes. It accepts a standard 9V battery.
Is the FX65 still in production?
No. The original FX65 is a discontinued vintage DOD model.
Is a power supply included?
No. No power supply is included with this used pedal.
What condition is this example in?
This example is graded Good, with cosmetic signs of previous use consistent with a pre-owned effects pedal.
