Why You'll Love It
The Fender Vintera '60s Telecaster Bigsby offers an excellent combination of traditional Fender tone and expressive vibrato capability.
The vintage-style pickups deliver the familiar clarity, snap and definition that have made the Telecaster one of the most versatile electric guitars ever produced.
The bridge pickup provides bright, punchy sounds ideally suited to country, blues and rock, while the neck pickup offers a warmer, rounder response for clean chords and expressive melodic playing.
What makes this particular model especially appealing is the addition of the Bigsby vibrato.
Unlike more aggressive modern tremolo systems, the Bigsby is particularly effective for subtle pitch movement, gentle chord shimmer and vintage-style vibrato effects.
This makes the guitar an attractive choice for surf, rockabilly, indie, blues and atmospheric guitar playing.
The Early '60s C-shaped neck, rounded 7.25-inch fingerboard radius and vintage-style frets provide an authentic traditional Fender feel.
Finished in classic 3-Color Sunburst, this Telecaster also offers the timeless appearance associated with some of Fender's most celebrated instruments.
Detailed Features & Benefits
Classic 1960s-Inspired Telecaster Design
The Fender Vintera '60s Telecaster Bigsby draws inspiration from the instruments that helped define electric guitar sounds throughout the 1960s. Its traditional body shape, vintage-style hardware and carefully selected neck specifications capture the essential character of an early-1960s Telecaster. The model combines these period-inspired appointments with the expressive versatility of a Bigsby vibrato, making it particularly appealing to musicians who want an authentic vintage feel without the cost associated with an original instrument.
Traditional Alder Body
The guitar features a solid alder body, one of the tonewoods closely associated with Fender's electric guitar designs. Alder provides a balanced tonal foundation, combining articulate high frequencies with a clear midrange and controlled low end. Its familiar response complements the bright character of traditional Telecaster single-coil pickups, making it suitable for a wide variety of clean and overdriven sounds.
Beautiful 3-Color Sunburst Finish
The 3-Color Sunburst finish gives this Vintera Telecaster a timeless vintage appearance, with warm central colouring that gradually transitions towards darker edges. The finish is complemented by a traditional mint green pickguard, chrome hardware and the familiar Telecaster body shape. This classic aesthetic makes the guitar particularly appealing to players who appreciate Fender's early-1960s designs.
Expressive Bigsby Vibrato System
The Bigsby vibrato is the defining feature of this model, allowing players to introduce smooth and subtle pitch variation through a spring-loaded arm. Particularly effective for gentle chord shimmer, expressive vibrato and vintage-inspired effects, the Bigsby offers a different playing experience from a conventional fixed-bridge Telecaster. Its controlled movement is ideal for traditional rockabilly, surf, country and atmospheric guitar textures, while its distinctive appearance gives the instrument additional visual character.
Six-Saddle Adjustable Bridge
The Bigsby-equipped Vintera Telecaster uses a six-saddle adjustable bridge, allowing the intonation of each string to be adjusted individually. This provides a practical advantage for maintaining accurate tuning across the fingerboard, especially when using different string gauges. Together with the Bigsby vibrato, the bridge supports the instrument's expressive playing capabilities while retaining the essential character of a Telecaster.
Vintage-Style '60s Single-Coil Pickups
The Vintera '60s Telecaster features a pair of vintage-style single-coil pickups developed to recreate the sound of classic Fender instruments. The bridge pickup delivers the bright attack, pronounced twang and articulate midrange associated with the Telecaster, while the neck pickup provides a warmer and smoother tonal character. Selecting both pickups together produces a balanced sound particularly useful for clean rhythm playing, funk, blues and pop guitar.
Early '60s C-Shaped Maple Neck
The guitar features Fender's Early '60s C-shaped maple neck profile, designed to reproduce the feel of traditional Telecasters from this influential period. Its slightly fuller contour offers a comfortable and substantial grip, making it attractive to guitarists who appreciate vintage-style necks. The gloss urethane neck finish completes the traditional playing experience, while the familiar Fender scale length provides clear articulation and responsive string tension.
Pau Ferro Fingerboard
The Pau Ferro fingerboard offers a smooth playing surface with a distinctive natural appearance. Its 7.25-inch radius follows traditional Fender specifications, providing a comfortably rounded feel for chord playing and vintage-inspired techniques. The fingerboard is complemented by white dot position markers and 21 vintage-style frets, creating a familiar playing environment for musicians who appreciate early Fender electric guitars.
Traditional 7.25-Inch Radius & Vintage Frets
The Vintera '60s Telecaster features a 7.25-inch fingerboard radius and vintage-style fretwire, accurately reflecting the playing characteristics of many classic Fender guitars. This rounded fingerboard is particularly comfortable for traditional chord voicings, rhythm guitar and expressive blues phrasing. Players accustomed to flatter modern fingerboards may notice a different response during wide string bends, reinforcing the instrument's vintage-inspired character.
Three-Way Pickup Switching
The traditional three-position blade selector provides immediate access to the Telecaster's principal sounds. The bridge position delivers bright, cutting single-coil tones, while the neck position produces warmer, rounder sounds. The middle position combines both pickups for a balanced response suitable for clean chord work and rhythm guitar. This straightforward configuration makes the guitar exceptionally easy to operate during rehearsals and live performances.
Master Volume & Tone Controls
The Vintera '60s Telecaster retains the traditional Fender control arrangement with a master volume and master tone control. The volume control allows players to adjust overall output and manage amplifier saturation, while the tone control provides convenient adjustment of the guitar's brightness. This simple layout makes it easy to move between articulate clean sounds and warmer, more rounded tones without relying on external effects.
Vintage-Style Hardware & Appointments
The guitar incorporates vintage-style tuning machines, traditional Fender control knobs, chrome hardware and a three-ply mint green pickguard. These appointments reinforce its early-1960s aesthetic while providing a familiar and practical playing experience. Combined with the Bigsby vibrato, they give the instrument a distinctive appearance that stands apart from conventional modern Telecasters.
Ideal for Vintage-Inspired Guitar Styles
The Vintera '60s Telecaster Bigsby is particularly well suited to players who enjoy classic Fender tones with additional expressive control. The combination of bright single-coil pickups and gentle Bigsby vibrato makes it highly effective for rockabilly, surf, country and blues. It is equally capable of atmospheric indie and alternative sounds, especially when combined with reverb, delay and modulation effects.
