Quick Product Summary

The Ibanez RG550-EB Genesis Collection in Electric Blue brings together the unmistakable styling and high-performance feel of the original RG era with Japanese construction and a specification built for fast, expressive playing. Its Basswood body, ultra-thin Super Wizard 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck and 24-fret Maple fingerboard deliver the responsive feel that made the RG550 an enduring favourite.

A classic V7/S1/V8 H-S-H pickup configuration provides everything from powerful humbucker sounds to crisp, articulate single-coil tones, while the legendary Ibanez Edge double-locking tremolo offers excellent tuning stability for expressive pitch effects.

What Makes the Ibanez RG550-EB Special?

The RG550 is one of the defining Ibanez RG models, and the Genesis Collection retains the features that established its reputation. The extremely slim Super Wizard neck measures just 17 mm at the first fret and 19 mm at the 12th, while its 430 mm radius Maple fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets create a fast, flat playing surface suited to demanding rhythm and lead techniques.

Its V7, S1 and V8 pickups provide the versatile H-S-H configuration traditionally associated with the RG550, while the original-style Edge tremolo and Gotoh machine heads complete a performance-focused hardware package. The vivid Electric Blue finish, Maple fingerboard and contrasting black hardware give this version unmistakable late-'80s-inspired RG character.
