Quick Product Summary
The Ibanez SRMS720-BCM is a modern four-string multiscale bass combining the familiar ergonomic feel of the SR platform with powerful Fishman Fluence electronics and an eye-catching Blue Chameleon finish.
Its 34.5"–33.5" multiscale layout is designed to balance string tension while maintaining a natural playing position, while dual Fishman Fluence pickups, three-band EQ and multiple voice options provide an exceptionally broad range of bass sounds.
What Makes the Ibanez SRMS720-BCM Special?
The SRMS720 brings multiscale construction into Ibanez's sleek Soundgear format. Its five-piece maple/walnut SRMS4 neck, Panga Panga fingerboard and 24-fret layout provide a fast, precise feel, while the varying scale lengths help optimise tension across all four strings without making the instrument feel excessively long.
Its Fishman Fluence pickup system is equally impressive. Multiple pickup voices, a selectable single-coil mode and three-band EQ allow the bass to move from thick traditional tones through to clear, full-range modern sounds and scooped funk-style settings without relying on external processing.
Who Is It For?
The SRMS720-BCM is ideal for intermediate and advanced bassists looking for a modern four-string with extensive tonal control and the ergonomic advantages of a multiscale design.
It is particularly well suited to progressive rock, metal, fusion, funk, pop, session work and contemporary styles where clarity, articulation and flexible onboard tone shaping are important.

FAQs
Is the Ibanez SRMS720-BCM a four-string or five-string bass?
The SRMS720 is a four-string bass, tuned to standard E, A, D and G.
What does BCM mean?
BCM is Ibanez's abbreviation for the Blue Chameleon finish.
Is the SRMS720 a multiscale bass?
Yes. It uses a 34.5" to 33.5" multiscale layout, with individual scale lengths designed to optimise string tension and playing comfort.
What is the advantage of a multiscale bass?
A multiscale design can provide more balanced tension across the strings while following the natural angle of the player's hand as it moves along the fingerboard. This can improve clarity, response and playing comfort.
What pickups are fitted?
The SRMS720 features a pair of Fishman Fluence bass pickups with multiple selectable voices and single-coil functionality.
What does the three-way voice switch do?
It allows you to move between a classic fuller bass voice, a more full-range modern response and a mid-contoured setting with a scooped, hi-fi character.
Does it have a single-coil mode?
Yes. Pulling the volume control engages Single-Coil Mode, providing additional tonal variations from the Fishman Fluence pickups.
Does the SRMS720 have active electronics?
Yes. The Fishman Fluence system works alongside a three-band active EQ, allowing bass, middle and treble frequencies to be adjusted directly from the instrument.
Can the bridge string spacing be adjusted?
Yes. The MR5S bridge allows each saddle to be repositioned by approximately ±1.5mm from its standard position, letting players fine-tune the spacing to their preference.
What is the fingerboard made from?
The SRMS720 uses a Panga Panga fingerboard with offset white dot position markers.
How many frets does it have?
It has 24 medium frets, providing a full two-octave range on each string.
What tuners does it use?
The bass is fitted with Graph Tech RATIO machine heads, which use string-specific gear ratios to provide a more consistent tuning feel across all four strings.
Does it come with a case?
No. A hard case or gig bag is not included with this Open Box bass.
