Description
Quick Product Summary
The Jackson X Series Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas SDXM in Snow White brings the fast-playing feel and versatile HSS electronics associated with the Iron Maiden guitarist's signature instruments into the accessible X Series range. Its San Dimas-style poplar body is paired with a graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck and maple fingerboard for a responsive, performance-focused feel.
A Jackson High-Output humbucker in the bridge provides the power and sustain required for hard rock and metal, while Jackson single-coils in the middle and neck positions introduce brighter, more articulate sounds. Add a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo and 12"-16" compound-radius fingerboard, and the SDXM is equipped for everything from rhythm playing to expressive lead work.
What Makes the Jackson Adrian Smith SDXM Special?
The SDXM combines a familiar double-cutaway shape with a specification geared towards demanding rock and metal playing. Its compound-radius maple fingerboard becomes progressively flatter towards the upper frets, giving chords and riffs a comfortable feel closer to the nut while providing plenty of room for bends and fast lead work higher up the neck.
Its HSS pickup configuration also gives the SDXM considerably more tonal range than a conventional dual-humbucker metal guitar. The bridge humbucker supplies powerful driven tones, while the middle and neck single-coils add clear, responsive sounds suitable for cleaner passages and classic rock textures.

FAQs
Who is the Jackson SDXM designed for?
The SDXM is an Adrian Smith signature model, inspired by the Iron Maiden guitarist's preferred San Dimas-style instruments and designed around versatile HSS electronics and high-performance playability.
What pickups are fitted?
It features a Jackson High-Output humbucker in the bridge with Jackson single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions.
What is the advantage of the HSS pickup configuration?
The bridge humbucker provides powerful rock and metal tones, while the single-coils add brighter and more articulate sounds. This gives the guitar a broad tonal range from one instrument.
What is a compound-radius fingerboard?
The fingerboard changes from 12" near the nut to 16" towards the upper frets. This provides a comfortable surface for chords lower down the neck while giving lead players a flatter surface for bends and faster playing higher up.
Does it have a Floyd Rose?
Yes. It features a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo, designed for expressive dives, pull-ups and vibrato effects while helping maintain tuning stability.
How many frets does it have?
The SDXM has 22 jumbo frets, providing a substantial fretting surface suited to lead playing and string bending.
What is the scale length?
It uses a familiar 25.5" / 648 mm scale length.
Is the neck reinforced?
Yes. The bolt-on maple neck incorporates graphite reinforcement, helping improve stability.
Is the guitar suitable for clean tones?
Yes. Although strongly associated with rock and metal, the neck and middle single-coil pickups provide clear, articulate sounds that work particularly well for cleaner playing.
Does it require a battery?
No. All three pickups are passive, so no battery is required.
What gauge strings are fitted?
Jackson supplies the guitar with .009–.042 nickel-plated steel strings.
Is a case or gig bag included?
No. A case or gig bag is not included and can be purchased separately.
