Korg Pa5x 76-Note Professional Arranger Keyboard
Description
Quick Product Summary
The Korg Pa5X 76 is a flagship professional arranger keyboard designed for demanding live performers, entertainers, composers and musicians who want sophisticated automatic accompaniment alongside workstation-level sound and production capabilities.
Its 76-note semi-weighted keyboard with velocity sensitivity and aftertouch provides considerably more playing range than the 61-note version while remaining lighter and faster feeling than the hammer-action Pa5X 88. Powered by Korg's advanced EDS-XP sound engine, it delivers more than 2,200 factory sounds, 600+ Styles, extensive sampling, dual crossfading Players, professional microphone and guitar processing and comprehensive real-time performance controls.
For players who want maximum stage versatility without moving to a full 88-note weighted keyboard, the Pa5X 76 is arguably the sweet spot of the Pa5X range.

What Makes the Korg Pa5X 76 Special?
The Pa5X is much more than an accompaniment keyboard. It combines Korg's sophisticated arranger technology with extensive sound editing, sampling, MIDI sequencing, audio playback and recording, vocal processing and professional connectivity.
The 76-note version is particularly attractive to working keyboard players. Its extended E1–G7 range provides more room for sophisticated splits, layered sounds and two-handed playing than a conventional 61-key arranger while retaining a responsive semi-weighted action and manageable 17.4kg overall weight.
Why Choose the Korg Pa5X 76?
76 Semi-Weighted Keys with Aftertouch
The Pa5X 76 uses a responsive semi-weighted keyboard covering E1 to G7.
Velocity sensitivity captures playing dynamics, while aftertouch allows compatible sounds and parameters to respond to additional pressure after a key has been played. This is particularly effective with synth leads, strings, brass and other expressive solo sounds.
EDS-XP Sound Engine
Korg's EDS-XP Enhanced Definition Synthesis – Expanded engine provides up to 160 voices of polyphony and an enormous range of detailed sounds.
The factory library contains more than 2,200 Sounds, including five multilayer stereo acoustic pianos with damper and body resonance, electric pianos, organs, guitars, orchestral instruments, synthesizers and more than 130 Drum Kits.
More Than 600 Factory Styles
The Pa5X includes over 600 factory Styles covering a broad spectrum of musical genres.
Each Style can include three Intros, four Variations, four Fills, a Break and three Endings, allowing arrangements to develop naturally throughout a performance.
XDS Crossfade Dual Player
Korg's patented XDS Crossfade Dual Player allows two Songs, Styles or combinations of the two to be loaded simultaneously.
The dedicated X-Fader provides smooth transitions between them, making the Pa5X particularly effective for professional live sets where stopping between songs is undesirable.
Powerful Sampling Capabilities
The Pa5X provides 4GB of User PCM sample data capacity, equivalent to approximately 8GB of linear data when compressed.
It can load Korg, WAV, AIFF and SoundFont formats, allowing performers and sound designers to incorporate custom samples and additional sound libraries into their setup.
Professional Vocal Processing
The balanced microphone input features phantom power and integrates with Korg's Shift Audio microphone processing.
Available tools include compression, EQ, gate, four-part harmonisation, doubling, filtering, modulation, delay, reverb and AutoPitch, allowing sophisticated vocal processing directly from the keyboard.
Dedicated Guitar Processing
A separate guitar input feeds a four-slot effects rack with stompbox-style processing and amplifier simulation.
For singers who also play guitar, or performers incorporating guitar into their act, this can greatly simplify the overall live rig.
Extensive Hands-On Control
The Pa5X provides nine assignable sliders, nine assignable buttons, 16 Matrix Pads, joystick, ribbon controller and three assignable switches.
This comprehensive physical control surface makes it easy to manipulate sounds, accompaniment and effects during a live performance without constantly navigating touchscreen menus.
Why Choose a Professional Arranger Keyboard?
A professional arranger creates backing parts that respond to the chords and musical decisions of the performer in real time.
Rather than simply triggering a fixed backing track, musicians can control intros, variations, fills, breaks and endings while freely changing chords, extending sections or adapting the arrangement to the audience.
This makes instruments such as the Pa5X especially powerful for solo entertainers, singers, duos, songwriters and professional event musicians who need the flexibility of a live ensemble from one keyboard.
Who Is the Korg Pa5X 76 For?
Professional Live Keyboard Players
The combination of 76 keys, aftertouch, extensive Styles and sophisticated hands-on controls makes the Pa5X 76 exceptionally capable on stage.
Solo Entertainers
Dual Players, SongBook, vocal processing, guitar effects and accompaniment Styles allow one performer to create an impressively complete live setup.
Singers
Four-part vocal harmonisation and extensive microphone effects can reduce the need for separate vocal-processing equipment.
Songwriters and Arrangers
Chord Sequences, Styles, sampling and a full 16-track sequencer provide a fast route from initial musical idea to complete arrangement.
Studio Musicians
Professional MIDI, USB and audio connectivity alongside multiple audio outputs allows the Pa5X 76 to integrate into more sophisticated studio and production systems.
Story & Context
Korg's Pa-series has developed through multiple generations into one of the company's leading professional arranger platforms, combining intelligent accompaniment technology with increasingly advanced sound generation, production and live-performance features.
The Pa5X generation introduced the EDS-XP sound engine, redesigned interface, XDS Crossfade Dual Player, 16-pad Matrix and an expanded physical control surface, creating a substantial step forward from earlier Pa-series instruments.
The 76-note version occupies an especially practical position in the range, offering greater keyboard space than the Pa5X 61 without the additional size and hammer-action response of the Pa5X 88.
Korg Pa5X 76 Compared
Pa5X 76 vs Pa5X 61
Both models use semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keyboards with aftertouch and offer the same fundamental Pa5X sound and arranger technology.
The Pa5X 76 adds 15 keys, providing a broader E1–G7 playing range that is particularly useful for larger keyboard splits, layered setups and two-handed performances.
Pa5X 76 vs Pa5X 88
The Pa5X 88 uses a full 88-note hammer-action keyboard, making it the stronger option for pianists who prioritise weighted key response.
The Pa5X 76 retains the lighter and faster semi-weighted action while weighing 17.4kg rather than 20.1kg, making it easier to transport regularly.
Pa5X 76 vs Pa5X-OR Oriental
The standard Pa5X is designed around an extensive international library covering a broad range of musical genres.
The separate Pa5X-OR Oriental models expand the platform with additional factory content specifically created for Arabic, Turkish, Persian and wider Middle Eastern musical traditions.

Fair Deal Music Verdict
★★★★★ 5/5
The Korg Pa5X 76 is arguably the most versatile configuration in Korg's flagship arranger range.
Its extended 76-note semi-weighted keyboard with aftertouch provides enough space for sophisticated splits, layers and demanding two-handed performances while remaining noticeably more manageable than the hammer-action 88-note version.
Combine that with 2,200+ sounds, 600+ Styles, extensive sampling, XDS dual crossfading Players, professional vocal and guitar processing, SongBook and comprehensive hands-on control, and the result is a genuinely formidable live-performance instrument.
For professional entertainers and keyboard players who want maximum Pa5X capability with an excellent balance of playing range, expressive control and portability, the Pa5X 76 is an outstanding choice.
