Detailed Features & Benefits
Legendary JCM800 Tone in a Compact Combo
Inspired by the iconic Marshall JCM800 2203, the Studio Classic recreates one of the most influential sounds in rock guitar history. From warm, articulate cleans to punchy classic rock crunch and aggressive high-gain overdrive, the SC20C delivers the unmistakable midrange character, harmonic richness and responsive feel associated with vintage Marshall amplification.
Authentic British-Built Valve Amplification
Manufactured at Marshall's factory in Bletchley, England, the Studio Classic combines traditional British amplifier construction with genuine all-valve circuitry. Featuring two ECC83 preamp valves, an ECC83 phase inverter and two EL34 power valves, the amplifier produces exceptional dynamic response, natural compression and rich harmonic overtones that respond beautifully to playing technique.
Switchable 20W / 5W Power Output
The SC20C features selectable 20-watt and 5-watt operating modes, providing additional flexibility for different playing environments. The full 20-watt setting delivers impressive projection and headroom for rehearsals and performances, while the reduced 5-watt mode makes it easier to explore valve-driven overdrive at more manageable volume levels.
Celestion VT-Junior 10-Inch Speaker
Equipped with a 10-inch Celestion VT-Junior speaker, the Studio Classic delivers a balanced, responsive sound with tight low frequencies, pronounced midrange and articulate highs. The speaker has been selected to complement the amplifier's JCM800-inspired circuitry, producing everything from sparkling clean tones to powerful, cutting British overdrive.
Single-Channel Design with Dual Sensitivity Inputs
Staying true to its JCM800 heritage, the SC20C features a traditional single-channel design with separate High and Low Sensitivity instrument inputs. These provide different levels of preamp response, allowing guitarists to explore cleaner tones or more aggressive, driven sounds depending on their instrument and playing preferences.
Preamp & Master Volume Controls
Independent Preamp Volume and Master Volume controls provide excellent flexibility when shaping the amplifier's sound. Increasing the preamp level produces the distinctive crunchy overdrive associated with classic Marshall amplifiers, while the master volume allows overall output to be adjusted to suit the playing environment.
Comprehensive Tone-Shaping Controls
A traditional three-band EQ provides dedicated Bass, Middle and Treble adjustments, allowing guitarists to tailor the amplifier's tonal response. An additional Presence control shapes the upper-frequency character, helping achieve everything from smooth vintage tones to bright, cutting lead sounds that stand out in a band mix.
Switchable Series Effects Loop
The Studio Classic includes a switchable series effects loop, allowing external pedals and processors to be connected between the preamp and power amp stages. This is particularly useful for delay, chorus, reverb and other time-based effects, providing greater flexibility while preserving the character of the amplifier's natural valve overdrive.
DI Output & External Speaker Connectivity
A dedicated 1/4-inch DI output provides additional flexibility for connecting the amplifier to suitable recording or external audio equipment. Five speaker output sockets accommodate compatible 4-ohm, 8-ohm and 16-ohm speaker configurations, allowing the amplifier to be used with appropriate external speaker cabinets. A suitable speaker load must remain connected during operation.
Compact & Portable Studio Series Design
Despite its genuine all-valve construction, the SC20C is considerably more compact than the full-sized JCM800 amplifiers that inspired it. Its manageable dimensions, integrated carrying handle and traditional combo design make it an excellent option for guitarists seeking authentic Marshall valve tone without the bulk of a large amplifier stack.
Classic Marshall Styling
Finished in traditional Marshall black with gold control panel detailing and the iconic white Marshall script logo, the Studio Classic captures the unmistakable appearance of the legendary JCM800 series. Its vintage-inspired styling perfectly complements its traditional valve circuitry, creating an amplifier that looks every bit as authentic as it sounds.
B-Stock Condition – Original Box Included
This Marshall SC20C-H is offered as a B-Stock amplifier in full working order.
The amplifier is supplied with its original manufacturer's box, making it an attractive choice for guitarists seeking premium British-built Marshall amplification at a more affordable price.
