KEY FEATURES

73-Note Hammer Action Portable Keyboard

The Electro 6 HP features Nord's 73-note Hammer Action Portable (HP) keyboard.

This weighted action is designed to offer a satisfying piano-playing response while remaining more portable than a traditional full-size 88-note hammer-action instrument.

It is particularly appealing to players who regularly perform acoustic piano and electric piano parts but also need organ and sample-based sounds.

Three Independent Sound Sections

The Nord Electro 6 HP features three independent sound sections:

• Piano

• Organ

• Sample Synth

These can be combined to create a wide variety of performance sounds.

For example, players can layer a grand piano with strings or combine an electric piano with a warm synth pad.

Nord Piano Library

One of the Electro 6 HP's biggest strengths is its compatibility with the acclaimed Nord Piano Library.

This provides access to a range of acoustic and electric piano sounds, including:

• Grand pianos

• Upright pianos

• Electric pianos

• Clavinets

• Digital piano sounds

The instrument's piano memory can be updated using compatible Nord software and library downloads.

Nord Organ Engine

The Electro 6 HP includes Nord's dedicated organ section, featuring classic organ models and real-time performance controls.

Its organ sounds cover:

• Tonewheel organs

• Vintage transistor organs

• Pipe organs

The organ section includes drawbar-style LED controls, percussion, vibrato/chorus and rotary speaker effects.

Sample Synth Section

The dedicated Sample Synth section provides access to Nord Sample Library sounds.

These can include:

• Strings

• Brass

• Choirs

• Synth pads

• Mellotron-style instruments

• Other sampled sounds

The Sample Synth section adds considerable versatility beyond conventional piano and organ sounds.

Seamless Transitions

Nord's Seamless Transitions feature allows notes and effects tails to continue sounding when changing programmes.

This is particularly valuable during live performances, helping avoid abrupt cut-offs when moving between sounds.

Split and Layer Functionality

The Electro 6 HP allows different sound sections to be layered or assigned to keyboard zones.

This makes it possible to create combinations such as:

• Acoustic piano and strings

• Electric piano and pad

• Organ and synth

• Piano and organ

Dedicated Effects

The onboard effects system includes a selection of processing tools designed for classic keyboard sounds.

These include modulation, amplifier-style processing, delay, reverb and rotary speaker simulation.

Physical controls make it easy to adjust sounds without navigating complicated menus.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Nord Electro 6 HP is an excellent choice for professional and enthusiastic musicians who need premium keyboard sounds in a performance-focused instrument.

It is especially suitable for gigging keyboardists, professional pianists, session musicians, worship teams, recording studios and serious home players.

Its 73-note hammer-action design is particularly attractive to musicians who want weighted keys but do not require a full 88-note keyboard.

PLAYING STYLES & APPLICATIONS

The Nord Electro 6 HP is highly versatile across a broad range of musical styles.

Jazz and blues: Expressive acoustic and electric piano sounds, together with classic tonewheel organ.

Soul and funk: Vintage electric pianos, Clavinet sounds and expressive organ textures.

Rock and pop: Acoustic piano, electric piano, organ and layered sample-based sounds.

Gospel and worship: Piano and pad layers, rich organ sounds and seamless programme changes.

Studio recording: A broad collection of premium keyboard sounds with immediate hardware control.

HOW IT COMPARES

Nord Electro 6 HP vs Nord Electro 6D 73

The main distinction is the keyboard action.

The Electro 6 HP features a 73-note Hammer Action Portable keyboard, making it particularly attractive to piano-focused players.

The Electro 6D 73 uses a semi-weighted waterfall keyboard, making it more directly suited to traditional organ techniques.

Nord Electro 6 HP vs Nord Stage Series

The Electro 6 HP focuses on Nord's Piano, Organ and Sample Synth architecture with a relatively straightforward performance interface.

The Nord Stage range offers a more extensive professional performance architecture, including a dedicated synthesizer section and broader sound-design capabilities.

For players primarily interested in piano, electric piano, organ and sampled instruments, the Electro 6 HP offers an appealing balance of sound quality, control and portability.
