Description
Quick Product Summary
The Orange Super Crush 100 Head delivers powerful, responsive guitar tones from a rugged 100-watt solid-state amplifier designed for stage, rehearsal and studio use. Inspired by Orange's flagship Rockerverb amplifiers, it combines an all-analogue preamp with a Class A/B power section for lively dynamics, strong clean headroom and saturated high-gain sounds.
With independent Clean and Dirty channels, built-in digital reverb, a buffered effects loop and a balanced CabSim XLR output, the Super Crush 100 offers the flexibility needed for everything from straightforward live rigs to direct recording setups.
What Makes the Orange Super Crush 100 Special?
Orange has designed the Super Crush 100 to deliver much of the immediacy and dynamic character players associate with a valve amplifier while retaining the reliability and consistency of a solid-state design. Its 100-watt Class A/B power section provides plenty of output for rehearsals and live performance, while the two-channel preamp moves easily between articulate cleans, classic crunch and considerably heavier gain.
It is also particularly well equipped for modern setups. Digital reverb is built in, the buffered effects loop provides a practical place for delay, modulation and other effects, and the balanced XLR CabSim output allows the amplifier to feed a mixing desk, PA or recording interface without having to place a microphone in front of a speaker cabinet.
Who Is It For?
The Super Crush 100 Head is ideal for guitarists who want a powerful, dependable amplifier head with the feel and response associated with traditional Orange amplification but without the maintenance requirements of a valve power stage.
Its combination of clean headroom, substantial gain range and practical connectivity makes it particularly suitable for rock, alternative, punk, metal and heavier styles, while its clean channel and pedal-friendly design also make it a strong platform for players who build their sound around effects.

FAQs
Is the Orange Super Crush 100 a valve amplifier?
No. The Super Crush 100 is a solid-state amplifier. Orange has designed its analogue preamp and Class A/B power section to provide a responsive playing feel and harmonic character associated with traditional valve amplification without requiring power valves.
Is the Super Crush 100 powerful enough for gigs?
Yes. With up to 100 watts into an 8-ohm cabinet, the Super Crush 100 has substantial output and headroom for rehearsal and live applications.
Can I use pedals with the Super Crush 100?
Yes. The amplifier works well as a pedal platform, and the buffered effects loop provides a dedicated connection point for effects that players may prefer to place after the preamp, such as delay and modulation.
Can I connect the Super Crush 100 directly to a PA system?
Yes. The balanced XLR CabSim output provides a speaker-emulated signal suitable for connection to compatible mixing desks, PA equipment and recording interfaces.
What speaker cabinet should I use with it?
The head can be connected to one 8-ohm cabinet, one 16-ohm cabinet or two 16-ohm cabinets. The total impedance must never fall below 8 ohms.
Can I change channels with a footswitch?
Yes. Channel selection can be controlled remotely using a compatible latching footswitch. A footswitch is available separately.
Can the reverb be switched remotely?
Yes. The amplifier provides footswitch control for its onboard reverb when used with a suitable switching setup.
Is the Super Crush 100 suitable for high-gain sounds?
Yes. The Dirty channel offers a wide gain range capable of moving from lower-gain crunch through to heavily saturated tones suitable for modern rock and metal.
Does the amplifier have built-in speakers?
No. This is an amplifier head, so it requires a suitable external guitar speaker cabinet for conventional amplified use.
Is the Orange Super Crush 100 suitable for recording?
Yes. Its CabSim-equipped balanced XLR output makes it particularly practical for direct recording, while the traditional speaker outputs also allow it to be recorded through a cabinet and microphone.
