Its figuring adds natural depth and movement beneath the Sunburst finish, giving this example a more premium appearance.
Sunburst Finish

HOW IT COMPARES
Richwood vs Traditional Telecaster
The Richwood follows the familiar T-style concept while adding a more decorative quilted maple top.
It offers the basic feel and visual identity of the format at a much more accessible price point than many Fender models.
Maple Fingerboard vs Rosewood
A maple fingerboard gives the guitar a brighter visual appearance and a smooth, familiar feel.
It also complements the traditional T-style aesthetic particularly well.
Quilted Top vs Plain Finish
A conventional solid-colour guitar hides the underlying wood.
The quilted maple top gives this example additional visual depth and makes it stand out from more basic Richwood T-style models.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★
Best suited for: Players wanting an affordable T-style guitar with a more decorative and distinctive appearance than a basic solid-colour model.
Customers usually upgrade from: Starter electric guitars, entry-level T-style instruments and budget solid-body electrics.
Most commonly paired with: Clean guitar amplifiers, overdrive, boost, reverb and straightforward pedal setups.
Our tip: The quilted maple top is the strongest visual feature here. For a player wanting an inexpensive working guitar that still looks a little different from the usual entry-level T-style options, this makes a lot of sense.
Showroom feedback: At 7.48 lbs, the guitar feels nicely manageable, while the quilted maple top gives it more visual character than we would normally expect from a straightforward Richwood T-style instrument.
