TC Electronic Pipeline Tap Tremolo Guitar Pedal, (Used)
Pairs well with
Description
The TC Electronic Pipeline Tap Tremolo is a versatile tremolo pedal combining classic amp-style modulation with modern tap-tempo control, rhythmic subdivisions and TC Electronic’s powerful TonePrint platform.
The pedal can move from smooth vintage-style pulse to harder square-wave chopping, while the Subdivision control allows the tremolo rhythm to lock to a wide range of musical divisions.
TonePrint compatibility opens up additional LFO shapes and custom rhythmic sequences, making the Pipeline considerably more flexible than a traditional two-knob tremolo.
This Pre-Owned example is in Very Good condition.
No power supply is included.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
The Pipeline goes far beyond a conventional tremolo pedal.
For straightforward vintage pulse, the controls remain simple and immediate. For more adventurous sounds, tap tempo and rhythmic subdivision let the modulation become part of the groove itself.
TonePrint then adds another layer of flexibility, allowing customised LFO shapes and rhythmic sequences that would normally require a much larger modulation unit.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Speed Control
The Speed knob controls the basic tremolo rate.
It can be used conventionally or in combination with tap tempo and the Subdivision control for rhythmically synchronised modulation.
Depth Control
The Depth control determines how strongly the signal level rises and falls.
Lower settings provide subtle movement, while higher settings create a much deeper pulse.
Volume Control
The Volume knob compensates for the perceived drop in loudness that can occur when tremolo is engaged.
It can also provide up to approximately 6dB of additional output boost.
Vintage Mode
The Vintage setting is designed for smoother, classic amplifier-style tremolo.
This is ideal for traditional blues, surf, country and retro clean tones.
Square Mode
The Square setting produces a harder, more abrupt on/off modulation.
This is useful for:
-
Stutter effects
-
Rhythmic chopping
-
Experimental guitar
-
Electronic-style textures
-
Modern alternative sounds
TonePrint Mode
The TonePrint setting gives access to TC Electronic’s custom modulation platform.
Using the TonePrint app or editor, the Pipeline can be programmed with alternative LFO shapes and more complex modulation behaviour.
TAP TEMPO
The Pipeline includes built-in tap-tempo operation.
Holding the footswitch enters tap mode, allowing the modulation tempo to be set by tapping the desired beat.
This makes it particularly useful for live playing where tremolo needs to stay rhythmically connected to the song.
RHYTHMIC SUBDIVISIONS
The Subdivision control allows the tremolo to follow different divisions of the tapped tempo.
Available options include:
-
Quarter note
-
Quarter-note triplet
-
Eighth note
-
Eighth-note triplet
-
Sixteenth note
-
Sixteenth-note triplet
-
Custom
This makes the Pipeline particularly useful for rhythmic and sequenced guitar parts.
CUSTOM SEQUENCER
The Custom position can access more advanced rhythmic sequencing through TonePrint.
This allows changing subdivision patterns rather than a single repeating pulse, opening up much more complex rhythmic effects.
TRUE OR BUFFERED BYPASS
The Pipeline is configured for true bypass as standard.
An internal option allows it to be changed to buffered bypass if preferred.
True bypass removes the pedal from the signal path when off, while buffered operation can be useful with longer cable runs and larger pedalboards.

HOW IT COMPARES
Pipeline vs Basic Tremolo Pedal
A basic tremolo may only provide Rate and Depth.
The Pipeline adds tap tempo, subdivision control, waveform selection, TonePrint editing and output level control.
Vintage vs Square Tremolo
Vintage mode provides a smoother traditional pulse.
Square mode produces a harder and more percussive on/off effect.
Pipeline vs Multi-Effects Tremolo
A multi-effects unit may offer similar control but in a significantly larger interface.
The Pipeline puts advanced rhythmic tremolo into a conventional compact-pedal format.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★
Best suited for: Players wanting classic tremolo sounds with considerably more rhythmic control than a traditional vintage-style pedal.
Customers usually upgrade from: Basic Rate/Depth tremolo pedals, amplifier tremolo and simple modulation effects.
Most commonly paired with: Reverb, delay, overdrive, fuzz and clean or lightly driven amplifiers.
Our tip: Start in Vintage mode for conventional tremolo, then use the tap tempo and eighth- or sixteenth-note subdivisions to turn the effect into a rhythmic part of the arrangement.
Showroom feedback: The Pipeline works equally well as a straightforward vintage tremolo or a much more experimental rhythmic effect. The Subdivision control is what really separates it from most compact tremolo pedals.
