Walrus Audio Slö Multi-Texture Reverb Pedal, (Used)
Pairs well with
Description
The Walrus Audio Slö Multi-Texture Reverb is a highly creative ambient reverb pedal designed for players who want to go far beyond conventional room, hall or spring sounds.
Built around three distinctive algorithms — Dark, Rise and Dream — the Slö can move from deep octave-infused ambience through slow cinematic swells to huge sustained pad-like textures.
Its extensive modulation controls, alternate wave shapes and dedicated Sustain footswitch make it especially well suited to ambient guitar, post-rock, worship, experimental music and studio sound design.
This Pre-Owned example is in Very Good condition.
No power supply is included.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT
The Slö is designed around atmosphere rather than conventional reverb realism.
Each of its three modes behaves very differently, allowing the pedal to cover deep cinematic drones, slow-moving swells and huge sustained textures without requiring a large multi-effects unit.
It is particularly effective when combined with delay, volume swells and clean or lightly driven guitar tones.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Dark Mode
Dark mode adds a lower-octave element to the reverb.
This creates deep, brooding textures that work particularly well for ambient playing, drones and cinematic soundscapes.
The X control adjusts the level or character of the lower-octave component within the reverb texture.
Rise Mode
Rise mode creates a slow swell into the reverb.
Rather than the effect appearing immediately, the wet signal fades in gradually, creating a smooth and atmospheric attack.
This works especially well for:
-
Volume-swell style passages
-
Ambient chords
-
Slow lead lines
-
Post-rock textures
-
Cinematic sound design
Dream Mode
Dream mode produces a large, lush reverb designed for expansive ambient textures.
In this mode, the Sustain footswitch can latch the current reverb decay into a long pad-like layer, allowing the player to perform over the top of the sustained sound.
SUSTAIN FOOTSWITCH
The Slö includes a dedicated Sustain footswitch.
Its behaviour changes depending on the selected algorithm.
In Dream mode, it can latch the existing reverb decay into a sustained pad, making it particularly useful for drones and layered ambient playing.
MODULATION
The Slö includes built-in modulation to add movement to the reverb.
Modulation depth is adjusted from the main control panel, while deeper functions allow the modulation speed and waveform to be changed.
This gives the effect considerably more movement and character than a conventional static reverb.
THREE MODULATION WAVE SHAPES
The Slö provides three selectable modulation wave shapes:
-
Sine
-
Warp
-
Sink
These change the way the pitch and movement of the reverb evolve over time.
This allows everything from smooth modulation to more unusual and asymmetrical movement.
ADJUSTABLE MODULATION SPEED
Holding the bypass footswitch while adjusting the modulation Depth control allows the modulation rate to be changed.
This provides another layer of control over how quickly the reverb texture moves.
DECAY CONTROL
The Decay control determines how long the reverb continues.
Lower settings provide a tighter ambience, while higher settings create very long, atmospheric trails.
FILTER CONTROL
The Filter control adjusts the tonal balance of the wet signal.
This allows the reverb to be darkened and pushed behind the dry guitar or brightened for a more present and detailed texture.
MIX CONTROL
The Mix control adjusts the balance between dry and effected signal.
Lower settings keep the original guitar prominent, while higher settings move further into ambient and washed-out territory.
X CONTROL
The function of the X control changes depending on the selected algorithm.
This provides additional algorithm-specific shaping without overcomplicating the main control layout.

HOW IT COMPARES
Slö vs Conventional Reverb
A conventional reverb pedal may focus on spring, plate, room or hall simulations.
The Slö is designed around creative ambient textures, with octave processing, swelling reverb and sustained pads.
Slö vs Walrus Fathom
The Fathom focuses more on traditional and broadly usable reverb types.
The Slö is more specialised towards ambient and experimental textures.
Slö vs Slöer
The Slöer expands the concept into a larger stereo platform with additional algorithms and deeper control.
The original Slö remains a compact and straightforward option for players who want the core Dark, Rise and Dream sounds.

FAIR DEAL MUSIC EXPERT VERDICT ★★★★★
Best suited for: Players wanting creative ambient reverb, cinematic textures and sustained atmospheric layers rather than conventional room-style ambience.
Customers usually upgrade from: Basic digital reverb pedals, compact ambient reverbs and multi-effects units with limited texture control.
Most commonly paired with: Delay, volume pedals, modulation, overdrive and clean stereo or high-headroom amplifier rigs.
Our tip: Start with Dream mode and lower Mix settings, then experiment with the Sustain footswitch. Once you understand how the pad behaves, Dark and Rise modes become much easier to integrate into a song rather than using them only as special effects.
Showroom feedback: The Slö is one of those pedals that encourages you to play differently. The three algorithms are genuinely distinct, and the modulation options make it especially effective for players building layered ambient sounds.
