Yamaha DXR15 MK3 15” Active PA Speaker
Description
Yamaha DXR15mk3 15" Active PA Speaker With Bluetooth And D-Remote App Control
The Yamaha DXR15mk3 is a professional 15-inch active PA speaker designed for DJs, live bands, venues, schools, houses of worship, rental companies, event production teams and performers who need high-output sound with advanced DSP control. As the largest full-range model in the DXR mk3 Series, the DXR15mk3 delivers the strongest low-frequency performance in the range while retaining the clarity, reliability and flexible operation Yamaha’s DXR speakers are known for.
With 2000W peak power, 1000W RMS Class-D amplification, 134 dB maximum SPL, a 46 Hz – 20 kHz frequency range and 90° x 60° coverage, the Yamaha DXR15mk3 is built for demanding front-of-house PA use, DJ playback, live performance, stage monitoring and professional installation. It combines Yamaha’s Advanced FIR-X Tuning, 96 kHz DSP, Drive Motion Calibration, Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming, D-Remote app control and intelligent feedback suppression in a powerful moulded enclosure.
Compared with the Yamaha DBR15, the DXR15mk3 offers more output, deeper system control, Bluetooth connectivity, app-based operation and a more advanced DSP platform. It is the better choice for users who need more headroom, more professional system management and greater flexibility for live sound, mobile events or venue use.
Why Choose The Yamaha DXR15mk3?
Professional 15" Full-Range Performance
The DXR15mk3 uses a 15-inch low-frequency driver with a 3-inch voice coil, giving it strong bass response, confident projection and the ability to handle full-range sound reinforcement duties. It is the most low-frequency capable full-range speaker in the DXR mk3 range, making it particularly suitable for DJs, live bands, venues and event users who want more bass from a single powered cabinet.
For many smaller and medium-sized applications, the DXR15mk3 can work effectively without a subwoofer. For larger dancefloors, high-output music playback or outdoor events, it can also be paired with Yamaha DXS mk3 subwoofers for a more powerful full-range system.
2000W Peak Class-D Amplification
The Yamaha DXR15mk3 features a 2000W peak / 1000W RMS Class-D amplifier, split between the low-frequency and high-frequency sections. This gives the speaker excellent headroom, strong transient response and the confidence needed for demanding live use.
Because the amplifier is built in, no external power amp is required. The speaker can be connected directly to a mixer, DJ controller, audio interface, microphone source or compatible playback device.
134 dB Maximum SPL
With a 134 dB maximum SPL, the DXR15mk3 offers serious output for professional applications. This makes it suitable for louder bands, energetic DJ sets, event work, rehearsal spaces, venue PA systems and portable sound reinforcement where extra headroom matters.
Compared with the Yamaha DBR15, the DXR15mk3 gives users a step up in output, control and overall system capability.
Advanced FIR-X Tuning
Yamaha’s Advanced FIR-X Tuning uses linear phase FIR filter technology to optimise the crossover and correction EQ. In practical terms, this helps the speaker deliver a smoother, more coherent sound with clear vocals, focused instruments and more natural transitions across the frequency range.
For live sound users, this means the DXR15mk3 is not just loud; it is designed to remain controlled, clear and musical at performance levels.
Drive Motion Calibration
Drive Motion Calibration is Yamaha’s low-frequency control technology for the DXR mk3 Series. It uses DSP to correct speaker movement, helping the low-frequency driver reproduce bass more accurately and with lower distortion.
For DJs, bands and playback systems, this helps the DXR15mk3 deliver tighter and more controlled bass than a basic 15-inch powered speaker.
Bluetooth 5.0 Audio Streaming
Unlike Yamaha’s DBR Series, the DXR15mk3 includes Bluetooth 5.0 audio streaming. This allows compatible devices to stream audio wirelessly to the speaker, making it useful for background music, interval playlists, rehearsal playback, event cues and quick setup situations.
For professional applications, wired sources are still recommended where maximum reliability is required, but Bluetooth adds useful convenience for many real-world setups.
D-Remote App Control
The Yamaha D-Remote app allows compatible iOS and Android devices to control and monitor DXR/DXS mk3 systems over Bluetooth. It provides access to key parameters such as level, delay, EQ, crossover, feedback suppression, ducker, identification, panel lock and scene save/recall.
This is particularly useful for venues, events and mobile sound users who need to adjust settings from the listening position rather than from behind the speaker.
Intelligent Feedback Suppressor
The DXR15mk3 includes intelligent feedback suppression designed to reduce unwanted feedback from microphones. Dynamic mode can suppress feedback in real time for handheld microphones, while fixed mode can identify and manage feedback-prone points for more static microphone setups.
This is especially useful for speech, live vocals, schools, churches, conferences and events where microphone feedback needs to be kept under control.
Auto V/H Position Function
The DXR mk3 Series includes an internal accelerometer that can detect whether the speaker is being used vertically or horizontally as a monitor. This allows the speaker to automatically optimise its DSP mode for the position, helping reduce setup time and maintain a more suitable response for the application.
For busy event users, this is a practical feature that helps avoid incorrect settings during quick changeovers.
Important: Yamaha DXR15mk3 vs Yamaha DBR15

Why Choose A 15" Professional Active PA Speaker?
A 15-inch professional active PA speaker is ideal when you need strong output, low-frequency body and full-range performance from a single cabinet. The larger woofer gives more depth and weight than many 10-inch or 12-inch speakers, making it useful for DJs, bands, playback systems and venue sound.
The Yamaha DXR15mk3 takes this format further with advanced DSP, higher power, Bluetooth audio, app control and intelligent feedback management. It gives users the benefits of a large full-range speaker while adding the modern control features needed for professional live sound and event work.
For users who need a speaker that can handle demanding gigs without immediately relying on a subwoofer, the DXR15mk3 is a strong choice.
What Do Advanced FIR-X Tuning, D-Remote And Drive Motion Calibration Do?
Advanced FIR-X Tuning is Yamaha’s crossover and correction technology. It uses linear phase FIR filters to help maintain smoother phase response and clearer sound across the frequency range. This contributes to better vocal clarity, more natural instruments and a more polished overall sound.
D-Remote is Yamaha’s control app for DXR/DXS mk3 systems. It allows users to adjust and monitor speaker parameters wirelessly, including level, delay, EQ, crossover, feedback suppression, ducker, panel lock and scene recall. This is especially useful when speakers are positioned on stands or installed in locations where rear-panel access is inconvenient.
Drive Motion Calibration is a Yamaha DSP algorithm designed to correct low-frequency driver movement. It helps the woofer follow the input signal more accurately, reducing distortion and improving bass control.
Together, these technologies make the DXR15mk3 a more advanced and professional speaker than a simple powered cabinet.
Yamaha has a long history in professional audio, from mixing consoles and loudspeakers to studio equipment and installed sound systems. The DXR Series has become one of Yamaha’s most respected powered speaker ranges because it combines strong output, dependable engineering and practical live sound features.
The DXR mk3 Series builds on that reputation with improved acoustic performance, newly developed driver units, 2000W Class-D amplification, 96 kHz DSP, Bluetooth audio, D-Remote control, intelligent feedback suppression and Drive Motion Calibration.
The DXR15mk3 sits at the top of the full-range DXR mk3 speaker line as the 15-inch option for users who want the most low-end presence and the biggest full-range sound from a single cabinet.

Does the Yamaha DXR15mk3 have a built-in mixer?
The DXR15mk3 has input routing, DSP processing and app-based control, but it is not a full multi-channel digital mixer. For multiple microphones, instruments, EQ, effects and full mix control, an external mixer is recommended.
Can I plug a microphone directly into the Yamaha DXR15mk3?
Yes. Input 2 includes mic/line capability, so a microphone can be connected directly. For better control, EQ, effects, multiple microphones or professional live sound mixing, use an external mixer.
Can I use the Yamaha DXR15mk3 for DJ work?
Yes. The DXR15mk3 is very well suited to DJ work thanks to its 15-inch woofer, 134 dB maximum SPL, Bluetooth audio, DJ DSP mode and strong low-frequency performance. For larger dancefloors or bass-heavy music, pairing it with a Yamaha DXS subwoofer will provide deeper bass and greater impact.

Yes. The DXR15mk3 can be used without a subwoofer for many DJ, live band, speech, playback and venue applications. Its 15-inch driver and 46 Hz low-frequency extension give it strong full-range performance. For larger events or very bass-heavy music, a subwoofer is still recommended.
