The Seymour Duncan Nazgûl bridge-8 pickup is a high-output passive humbucker designed for extended range guitars, built to deliver aggressive, tight tones with clarity under high gain. It uses a large ceramic bar magnet and custom winding specs to emphasise saturated distortion, strong mids, defined highs, and a bass end that stays taut even in low tunings. Vac-wax potting helps reduce squealing and feedback.

The impedance is around 18.5-18.7 kΩ in the bridge position, which contributes to its powerful output. Wiring is 4-conductor, allowing multiple wiring configurations such as coil-splitting or series/parallel options.

For tonal character, the Nazgûl excels at delivering aggressive, heavy rhythms and chuggy palm muting, while retaining pick attack and articulation so individual notes stay discernible even in complex chords or drop tunings. On cleaner settings it still has enough clarity and brightness to ring without sounding muddy, though it remains inherently voiced for high-gain applications.
