Ernie Ball Music Man Luke II in Sunburst, (Used)
The Ernie Ball Music Man Luke II in Sunburst is a signature model designed in collaboration with Steve Lukather, offering a blend of classic design and modern playability. Introduced in 1998 as an evolution of the original Luke I, the Luke II features an alder body with a high-gloss polyester finish, providing a resonant tone and sleek appearance. The contoured body design ensures comfort during extended playing sessions.
The guitar is equipped with a select maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard, featuring a 12" radius and 22 low-profile, wide frets, facilitating smooth playability across the fretboard. The neck is finished with a gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend, enhancing the natural feel. The 25.5" scale length contributes to a balanced tension and tonal clarity. The headstock is compact, measuring only 5-7/8" in length. Schaller M6-IND locking tuners provide reliable tuning stability.
In terms of electronics, the Luke II features an HSS configuration with an active EMG 85 humbucker in the bridge position and two active EMG SLV single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. This setup offers a versatile tonal palette suitable for various musical styles. The 5-way lever pickup selector, along with master volume and tone controls, allows for precise tonal shaping. The guitar is also equipped with a Music Man® floating vintage tremolo bridge made of chrome-plated, hardened steel with bent steel saddles, enabling expressive pitch modulation while maintaining tuning stability.
