Alvarez ARDA 1965, (Used)
The Alvarez ARDA 1965 is a slope-shoulder dreadnought acoustic guitar from Alvarez’s 1965 “Artist” series. It has a solid Sitka spruce top and acacia back and sides, with abalone/paua binding around the edges and soundhole. The neck is made of mahogany, joined to the body via a dovetail, with a rosewood fingerboard featuring 19 frets. The nut is bone, and the scale length is 25½ inches.
It features Alvarez’s forward-shifted, scalloped X bracing (FST2M), designed to increase the exposed vibrating top area for improved bass response and projection. The bridge is bi-level rosewood, and the fingerboard is bound with detail around the edges. The headstock uses premium die-cast tuners.
The finish is gloss and the overall build includes high-quality aesthetic touches such as abalone purfling and dark binding. The nut width is approximately 1.75 inches, and the finish highlights the guitar’s vintage appointments in line with the 50th-anniversary design ethos.
