Burns Barracuda Special, Fiesta Red, (Used)
The Burns Barracuda Special is a robust baritone-style electric guitar originally launched in Burns London’s Club Series and later revived in mid‑2010s production (likely in China). It sports a 30″ scale length with a bolt-on hardrock maple neck topped by a rosewood fingerboard and 23 frets. Its lightweight basswood body is finished in bold Fiesta Red gloss polyester, combined with chrome hardware and the distinctive Burns triangular headstock for a striking vintage-modern aesthetic.
Electronics include three Burns Rez-o-Matik pickups wired through a five‑way selector, with dual tone controls and a push‑pull option for seven pickup combinations. The Rez‑o‑Tube tremolo system—along with locking machine heads—ensures strong tuning stability and expressive vibrato action. Tonally, the guitar delivers chiming clarity and tight low-end response, which suits both baritone guitar tunings and standard six-string use.
In addition to owning Jimi‑style visuals, the Barracuda Special is a rare collector’s piece in Fiesta Red, appearing in limited runs, including 2002 UK-made customs and band signature reissues. While a few custom models exist from earlier generations, its 2014/15 reissue remains the most widely available configuration with modern specs and bold visual appeal.
