Taylor 214ce Acoustic Guitar, (Used)
The Taylor 214ce is a Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar from Taylor’s 200 Series, designed as a versatile all-purpose steel-string instrument for both live and studio use. It features a solid torrefied spruce top paired with layered walnut back and sides, combined with a neo-tropical mahogany neck and West African Crelicam ebony fingerboard. The guitar uses a Venetian cutaway body shape, a 25.5-inch scale length, a 1-11/16-inch nut width, and Taylor’s slim neck carve for low-resistance playability across the fretboard.
The construction uses Taylor’s C-Class bracing system, engineered to increase sustain, low-end presence, and projection while maintaining note clarity and balanced response. The Grand Auditorium body shape combines dreadnought-style depth with a narrower waist, producing a broad dynamic range suited to fingerstyle, strumming, and flatpicking applications. The guitar includes matte-finished back and sides, a matte neck finish, ebony bridge, and a lightweight structured Taylor gig bag.
The electronics system is Taylor’s Expression System 2 (ES2), using a behind-the-saddle pickup design with active onboard amplification. Controls include volume, bass, and treble adjustment mounted discreetly along the upper bout. The ES2 system is designed to reproduce the guitar’s acoustic response with high dynamic sensitivity and direct PA compatibility for stage performance and recording applications.
