JHS Violet Purple Pedal, (Used)

The JHS Violet Purple is a signature overdrive and distortion pedal developed in collaboration with guitarist Lari Basilio. It features a unique active three-band EQ consisting of bass, mid, and treble controls, with the midrange section positioned before the distortion circuit to act as a pre-drive tone-shaping stage. This configuration allows extensive tonal flexibility, while the bass and treble controls are placed after the drive circuit for traditional post-distortion shaping.

The pedal includes controls for volume, gain, mid frequency sweep, and individual EQ bands, enabling adjustment of gain levels and frequency emphasis across a wide tonal range. It operates on a 9 V DC centre-negative power supply, uses buffered bypass switching, and features a soft-touch footswitch. The enclosure includes top-mounted jacks and draws approximately 55 mA of current during operation. 

Built in the United States, the unit is designed to function as a flexible gain stage suitable for use in front of a clean amplifier. Its circuit architecture allows it to produce tones ranging from low-gain overdrive to higher-gain distortion, while the EQ placement and control layout support detailed tonal shaping within compact pedalboard dimensions.
