The 1976 Fender Precision Bass refinished in Candy Apple Red is a solid-body electric bass constructed from alder for the body with a maple neck and maple fingerboard. The fingerboard has 20 frets and a 34-inch scale length, providing the standard dimensions and playability characteristic of Precision Bass models from this era. The body has been refinished in Candy Apple Red, while the original contour and single cutaway shape remain intact.

This bass features a single split-coil Precision Bass pickup positioned in the middle, delivering the traditional punchy and deep low-end tone associated with the model. Controls include a single volume knob and a single tone knob, allowing for straightforward adjustments to the output signal. The bridge is a four-saddle vintage-style design, and the hardware is chrome-plated, including the tuning machines.

The neck is attached with a four-bolt neck plate, and the headstock bears the 1970s Fender logo. The refinished Candy Apple Red body displays the maple neck and fingerboard contrast, emphasising the classic design of the instrument. The bass maintains the traditional solid-body construction, hardware configuration, and tonal characteristics that define the 1976 Fender Precision Bass series.
