Blackstar LT Boost Electric Pedal (Half Price)
Description
Quick Product Summary
The Blackstar LT BOOST is a compact guitar boost pedal designed to do far more than simply make your signal louder. Use it as a clean volume boost, an additional EQ stage or push the front end of your amplifier into smooth, responsive overdrive.
Blackstar's patent-applied-for clipping circuit was developed from the tonal principles behind the company's valve-driven pedals, with an emphasis on retaining playing dynamics and producing natural compression as the gain increases.
Unlike a basic one-knob booster, the LT BOOST adds dedicated Bass and Treble cut/boost controls alongside Gain. This lets you shape the boosted signal around different guitars, pickups and amplifiers, making it particularly useful for solos, gain stacking, tightening rhythm sounds and getting more drive from an existing valve amp.

Why Choose The Blackstar LT BOOST?
More Than A Simple Volume Boost
At lower Gain settings, the LT BOOST can increase your guitar's signal while retaining a clean, dynamic character. Turn Gain higher and it begins to push the amplifier harder, encouraging natural breakup and overdrive from the amp itself.
Bass & Treble Cut/Boost EQ
Both tone controls operate around a neutral centre position. Turn either control anticlockwise to reduce that frequency range or clockwise to boost it.
This makes the LT BOOST useful for correcting the balance of a guitar, changing the response of an amplifier or creating a deliberately different boosted tone for solos.
Push A Valve Amp Into Natural Overdrive
One of the LT BOOST's strongest uses is in front of a valve amplifier that is already near breakup. Increasing the pedal's Gain sends a stronger signal into the amp, producing additional harmonics, compression and drive while keeping the amplifier's own character at the centre of your sound.
Valve-Pedal-Inspired Response
Blackstar developed the LT range around a patent-applied-for clipping circuit derived from ideas used in its larger valve-driven pedals. The goal is a boost that remains responsive to playing dynamics rather than simply applying a fixed increase in signal level.
Compact & Pedalboard Friendly
The LT BOOST uses a rugged metal enclosure with silent switching and buffered bypass, while its narrow footprint makes it easy to fit into an existing pedalboard.
Blackstar LT BOOST vs Popular Alternatives
Blackstar LT DRIVE
The LT DRIVE is better suited when you want the pedal itself to generate more obvious overdrive and saturation. It offers Gain, Level and Tone controls and progresses from boost through crunch into lead drive. Choose the LT BOOST when pushing and shaping your existing amp tone is the main priority.
Blackstar Dept. 10 Boost
The Dept. 10 Boost is the premium step up within Blackstar's range, using a genuine ECC83/12AX7 valve operating at high internal voltage alongside Boost, Low and High controls. The LT BOOST is considerably more compact and lower-powered, making it a great option when pedalboard space and straightforward 9V battery operation matter more.
MXR Micro Amp+
The MXR Micro Amp+ also combines boost with Bass and Treble EQ and can provide up to +26dB of gain. It uses true bypass and is an excellent choice for players who want the established MXR boost platform. The Blackstar offers its own valve-pedal-inspired clipping approach and buffered bypass.
BOSS BP-1W Booster/Preamp
The BOSS BP-1W is a premium analogue booster/preamp with three selectable voices based around the CE-1, RE-201 and a natural clean-boost mode. It suits players specifically looking for characterful vintage preamp sounds, while the LT BOOST offers a simpler Bass/Treble/Gain approach at the heart of a compact Blackstar pedal.
Who Is The Blackstar LT BOOST For?
The LT BOOST is particularly well suited to:
-
Guitarists wanting a louder solo sound
-
Valve amp users who want to push their amplifier harder
-
Players looking to tighten or reshape their core guitar tone
-
Pedalboard users who need an additional EQ stage
-
Guitarists switching between instruments with different output levels
-
Blues, rock and classic-rock players
-
Musicians stacking several drive pedals
-
Players who want a compact boost with more control than a single Gain knob

Suitable Genres & Uses
A boost pedal is useful across almost every style of electric guitar playing because it does not impose one fixed distortion sound on your rig.
The LT BOOST is particularly useful for blues, classic rock, indie, country, alternative and hard rock, whether you're using it to lift a clean solo, push a valve amp into breakup or add extra level before another overdrive or distortion pedal.
What Does A Guitar Boost Pedal Actually Do?
A boost pedal increases the level of your guitar signal. Into a clean amplifier with plenty of headroom, this can primarily make the sound louder. Into an amplifier already close to breakup, the stronger signal causes the preamp to distort more, giving you additional overdrive, compression and sustain.
The LT BOOST adds another useful dimension through its Bass and Treble controls. Instead of simply increasing everything equally, you can reduce excess low end for a tighter drive sound, add Treble for extra cut or reshape the boosted tone to sit more clearly in a band mix.
Story & Context
Blackstar developed the LT compact pedal series as a pedalboard-friendly extension of ideas established with its larger HT valve-driven effects pedals.
Rather than simply creating basic miniature effects, Blackstar developed a patent-applied-for clipping circuit intended to retain characteristics associated with valve-like response and compression while allowing the LT pedals to operate from conventional 9V power.
Within the range, the LT BOOST is the model focused on enhancing the amplifier you already have. Its continuously variable boost and dedicated Bass/Treble EQ make it useful as both a performance tool and a practical way of fine-tuning the interaction between guitar, pedals and amplifier.

Fair Deal Music Verdict 🎵
★★★★★ 5/5
The Blackstar LT BOOST is a particularly useful take on the traditional boost pedal because the Bass and Treble controls let you decide exactly what you are pushing harder.
That makes it equally useful for a simple solo lift, tightening a driven amplifier, balancing guitars with different pickups or adding another tone-shaping stage to a larger pedalboard.
Best suited for: Valve amp users, blues/rock players and guitarists building multi-stage gain setups
Customers usually upgrade from: Basic one-control boost pedals or relying solely on amplifier gain
Most commonly paired with: Valve amps, overdrive pedals, distortion pedals and pedalboard power supplies
Our tip: For a tighter driven rhythm sound, try reducing Bass slightly before increasing Gain. This can stop the front of the amplifier becoming overly loose when pushed harder.
Showroom feedback: The separate Bass and Treble controls are what make the LT BOOST especially useful – you are not limited to simply making your existing sound louder.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Blackstar LT BOOST make my guitar louder without adding distortion?
Yes. At lower Gain settings and into an amplifier with enough clean headroom, it can work as a clean volume boost. How much additional distortion you hear will also depend on the amplifier and its existing gain setting.
Can I use the LT BOOST to push a valve amplifier?
Yes. This is one of its main applications. A stronger signal into a valve amp that is already close to breakup can produce additional overdrive, compression and sustain.
What do the Bass and Treble controls do?
Both controls can cut or boost their respective frequency ranges. At approximately 12 o'clock they are neutral, allowing you to reshape the boosted signal rather than simply increasing its overall level.
Does the LT BOOST have a separate Level control?
No. The pedal uses Bass, Treble and Gain controls. The Gain control determines the amount of signal boost.
Can I use it with another overdrive pedal?
Yes. A boost can be very effective when stacked with overdrive or distortion. Placing it before another gain pedal can push that pedal harder, while positioning it afterwards can provide a different type of level and EQ lift.
Where should I put the LT BOOST in my pedal chain?
There is no single correct position. Place it before overdrive if you want to push the gain stage harder, or experiment with placing it after your main drive if you want a different balance of level and EQ. Your amplifier and other pedals will influence the result.
Can the LT BOOST run from a battery?
Yes. It can operate from a 9V PP3 battery or a compatible external 9V DC power supply.
What is the difference between the LT BOOST and LT DRIVE?
The LT BOOST concentrates on increasing and reshaping your guitar signal to work with your amplifier, with Bass and Treble cut/boost controls. The LT DRIVE is designed to generate a broader range of overdrive within the pedal itself and uses Gain, Level and Tone controls.
