The Fender Altered Reality Series Sixty-Six in Natural is an electric guitar produced in Mexico as part of Fender’s Alternate Reality lineup. It features an ash body shaped like a downsized Jazz Bass offset design, finished in gloss polyester that highlights the natural wood grain. The bolt-on neck is maple with a Modern “C” profile, paired with a maple fingerboard carrying 22 medium-jumbo frets, black dot inlays, a 9.5-inch radius, and Fender’s standard 25.5-inch scale length with a 1.650-inch synthetic bone nut.
Electronics use a unique HSS configuration consisting of a Player Series Alnico 2 humbucker in the bridge position and two Player Series Alnico 5 Telecaster single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions. Controls include a master volume and master tone along with a five-position blade switch that selects bridge, bridge-and-middle, middle, middle-and-neck, or neck pickup combinations. This arrangement blends humbucker power with traditional Fender single-coil clarity.
Hardware includes a six-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, and nickel/chrome hardware with a three-ply pickguard. The model was released as a limited-run design combining classic Fender components with an offset body inspired by the Jazz Bass.
