Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster, Honey Burst Electro Acoustic Guitar
Description
Quick Product Summary
The Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster in Honey Burst combines acoustic resonance, electric-guitar playability and straightforward amplified versatility in one distinctive hybrid instrument. Its fully chambered Telecaster-inspired body pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with nyatoh back and sides, creating a guitar with genuine natural resonance while retaining the slim, comfortable feel many electric players prefer.
Its two-pickup system combines a Fishman under-saddle transducer with Fender's Acoustasonic Standard Shawbucker. The acoustic pickup captures the response of the strings and bridge, while the magnetic Shawbucker provides a fuller electric-style voice. A simple Master Volume and continuous Blend control lets you move between the two without navigating multiple switches or preset voices.
Finished in warm Honey Burst, this is a particularly appealing choice for singer-songwriters, gigging musicians, worship players, home recordists and electric guitarists looking for acoustic capability without moving to a conventional full-depth electro-acoustic.

Fair Deal Quality Control Assessment
Every new guitar sold through Fair Deal Music is carefully checked before leaving us, with attention given to its general playing condition, hardware, electronics and controls.
With an Acoustasonic, this includes the important crossover elements of the instrument. The Fishman under-saddle system, magnetic Shawbucker and continuous Blend control all form an integral part of how the guitar performs when amplified.
As with any guitar, setup can shift slightly during delivery as the instrument responds naturally to changes in temperature and humidity. If you need advice on action, neck relief, strings, amplification or general setup after delivery, our experienced team is happy to help.
Why Choose The Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster?
Genuine Acoustic Construction
The Acoustasonic Standard is more than a conventional Telecaster fitted with acoustic electronics. Fender uses a braced solid Sitka spruce top and fully chambered body, giving the instrument genuine physical resonance before it is plugged in.
Two Complementary Pickup Systems
The Fishman under-saddle transducer provides the acoustic foundation, while the Acoustasonic Standard Shawbucker introduces magnetic electric-guitar character.
Having both gives you considerably more flexibility than a conventional single-pickup electro-acoustic.
Simple Continuous Blend Control
Rather than providing multiple voice switches, the Standard Series keeps operation straightforward. The Blend control lets you move continuously between the under-saddle and magnetic pickups or combine the two in different proportions.
For performers who value simplicity, that can be a major advantage.
Familiar Fender Playing Feel
The Modern Deep “C” nyatoh neck, 25.5" scale length, 12" radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 medium-jumbo frets give the instrument a feel much closer to the electric-guitar world than a traditional full-bodied acoustic.
Comfortable Chambered Body
Integrated forearm and back contours help the Acoustasonic sit naturally against the player, while the shallow chambered construction makes it comfortable for long rehearsals, recording sessions and live sets.
Honey Burst Finish
Honey Burst complements the visible spruce top particularly well, giving the guitar a warmer acoustic-inspired appearance while retaining the instantly recognisable Telecaster silhouette.

Comparison Against Popular Alternatives
Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster vs Acoustasonic Standard Jazzmaster
Both Standard models use the same fundamental acoustic-electric philosophy, including the solid Sitka spruce top, chambered nyatoh construction and two-pickup Volume/Blend system.
The main decision is therefore physical preference. The Telecaster offers the more compact, familiar Tele-inspired silhouette, while the Jazzmaster gives you a larger offset body shape. Neither is simply an upgrade over the other.
Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster vs Acoustasonic Player Telecaster
The Acoustasonic Player Telecaster provides a more sophisticated electronics package, using a three-way switch and Acoustic Engine to deliver six selectable voices.
The Standard is deliberately simpler. Choose it if you primarily want to blend acoustic and magnetic pickup sounds intuitively; choose the Player if additional selectable voices are an important part of your live or studio workflow.
Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster vs American Acoustasonic Telecaster
The American Acoustasonic Telecaster takes the idea considerably further with three pickup sources, a five-way selector and ten acoustic/electric voice combinations.
That makes the American model better suited to players who want maximum onboard tonal flexibility. The Standard is the stronger proposition if you prefer a straightforward instrument with fewer controls and a more accessible route into the Acoustasonic concept.
Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster vs Traditional Electro Acoustic Guitar
A conventional electro-acoustic remains the better choice when traditional acoustic body depth, natural projection and conventional acoustic playing feel are the priorities.
Choose the Acoustasonic Standard if you want a slimmer Fender-style instrument, familiar electric-guitar ergonomics and the additional option of a magnetic pickup sound.
Who Is The Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster For?
The Acoustasonic Standard makes particular sense for musicians whose playing regularly crosses between acoustic and electric territory.
It is well suited to:
-
Singer-songwriters
-
Solo and duo performers
-
Worship musicians
-
Function and covers guitarists
-
Home and studio recording
-
Electric guitarists wanting acoustic capability
-
Acoustic players wanting a slimmer body
-
Pop and indie musicians
-
Alternative players
-
Loop-pedal performers
-
Songwriters looking for new textures
-
Players wanting fewer instrument changes during a live set

Suitable Genres And Playing Styles
The Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster is particularly effective for singer-songwriter music, pop, indie, contemporary worship, folk-influenced material and modern acoustic arrangements.
Move the Blend control towards the under-saddle transducer for cleaner acoustic-style rhythm, picking and chord work. Bring in more of the Shawbucker when you want additional weight, magnetic-pickup response or a sound that works more naturally with electric-guitar effects.
That flexibility also makes it useful for looping and studio layering, where contrasting guitar textures can be created without changing instruments.
How Does The Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster Blend Control Work?
The Standard model keeps its electronics deliberately simple.
Its Blend control continuously changes the balance between the Fishman under-saddle transducer and Acoustasonic Standard Shawbucker.
Move towards the transducer for a more acoustic-focused response. Move towards the magnetic pickup for a fuller electric-style sound. Intermediate settings combine elements of both.
Unlike the Player and American Acoustasonic models, there is no three-way or five-way voice selector to navigate, making the Standard particularly intuitive during live performance.
What Makes An Acoustasonic Different From A Normal Electro Acoustic?
The biggest difference is that Fender designed the Acoustasonic as a hybrid from the outset.
Its Stringed Instrument Resonance System, chambered body and solid spruce top give it physical acoustic resonance, while the shallow Fender-inspired body, bolt-on neck and magnetic pickup move the instrument closer to the feel and flexibility of an electric guitar.
A normal electro-acoustic generally begins with a traditional acoustic guitar and adds amplification. The Acoustasonic takes a different approach by bringing acoustic and electric design ideas together within the instrument itself.
Compatibility & Recommended Pairings
The Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster can fit into a wide range of modern guitar setups.
Good pairing options include:
-
Acoustic guitar amplifiers
-
Full-range PA systems
-
Active PA speakers
-
DI boxes
-
Acoustic preamps
-
Guitar modellers
-
Multi-effects processors
-
Audio interfaces
-
Loop pedals
-
Reverb
-
Delay
-
Compression
-
Light overdrive
-
Boost pedals
An acoustic amplifier or full-range system is particularly useful when the under-saddle pickup is your main sound.
A conventional electric-guitar amplifier can place more emphasis on the Shawbucker and driven side of the instrument, while a modeller or full-range rig can provide plenty of flexibility when you regularly use both.
Story & Context
Fender introduced the modern Acoustasonic family in 2019 with the American Acoustasonic Telecaster, using one of its most recognisable electric-guitar shapes as the starting point for a completely different type of acoustic-electric instrument.
The concept brought together a chambered acoustic body, solid spruce top, Fender's Stringed Instrument Resonance System and specially developed electronics to create an instrument capable of moving between acoustic and electric roles.
The range subsequently expanded to different Fender body shapes and different levels of electronic sophistication.
The Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster distils the original concept into a particularly straightforward format. Instead of providing numerous modelled voices, it concentrates on a Fishman under-saddle transducer, Acoustasonic Standard Shawbucker and continuous Blend control.
For players who like the physical Acoustasonic design but prefer simple controls, that makes the Standard an important addition to the range rather than merely a lower-priced version of the American model.

Power Requirements
The Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster uses powered onboard electronics for its amplified pickup system.

Connect the guitar to your amplifier, PA, DI, modeller or audio interface using a standard ¼-inch instrument cable.
Fair Deal Music Verdict 🎵
★★★★★ 5/5
The Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster in Honey Burst is a particularly strong option for players who want the Acoustasonic concept without needing an extensive menu of onboard voices.
Its standout feature is how naturally the two-pickup Blend system fits into real-world playing. You have the acoustic response of the Fishman transducer, the stronger magnetic character of the Shawbucker and everything between them from a single control.
Best suited for: Singer-songwriters, gigging musicians, worship players, home recordists and electric guitarists wanting practical acoustic versatility.
Customers usually upgrade from: Conventional electro-acoustic guitars, entry-level hybrid instruments or live setups where separate acoustic and electric guitars are currently required.
Most commonly paired with: Acoustic amplifiers, PA systems, DI boxes, modellers, loopers, delay and reverb.
Our tip: Treat your amplification as part of the Acoustasonic system. A good full-range or acoustic rig will reveal more of the under-saddle pickup, while an electric-oriented setup can bring the magnetic Shawbucker much further forward.
Showroom feedback: The Standard's biggest strength is accessibility. You can understand the Volume and Blend controls almost immediately, making it an appealing choice for players who want hybrid versatility without spending a performance thinking about switch positions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the Fender Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster be played unplugged?
Yes. Its fully chambered body and solid Sitka spruce top give it a genuine natural acoustic response, making it useful for songwriting and quiet practice without amplification.
For live performance or playing alongside other instruments, amplification will normally be required.
Is the Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster suitable for an electric guitarist?
Yes. The 25.5" scale, Modern Deep “C” bolt-on neck, 12" fingerboard radius and 22 medium-jumbo frets make it much more familiar to an electric guitarist than many conventional acoustic guitars.
Does it have the same electronics as the Acoustasonic Player Telecaster?
No. The Standard uses a simpler two-pickup Volume and Blend system. The Player model adds a three-way selector and Fender/Fishman Acoustic Engine with six available voices.
Does the Standard have acoustic modelling?
Its design focuses on blending the under-saddle transducer and magnetic Shawbucker rather than giving you the multiple selectable voice combinations found in the Player and American Acoustasonic models.
Can I use effects pedals with an Acoustasonic Standard?
Yes. Reverb, delay, compression, looping and modulation are all natural choices. Light overdrive and boost can also work particularly well when you favour the Shawbucker side of the Blend control.
Can I plug it directly into a PA?
Yes. A PA or full-range system is a useful way to amplify the acoustic side of the guitar. A suitable DI box or acoustic preamp can provide additional level and EQ control in a live environment.
Is the Honey Burst finish different from the Aged Natural model apart from colour?
The Honey Burst and Aged Natural versions share the same fundamental Acoustasonic Standard Telecaster specification, so the choice is primarily about which visual treatment you prefer.
Is it suitable for home recording?
Yes. The ability to adjust the balance between its acoustic and magnetic pickup sources makes the Acoustasonic particularly useful for layered recording, demos and songwriting sessions.
Should I buy this or a traditional electro-acoustic?
Choose a traditional electro-acoustic when traditional acoustic projection and full-bodied acoustic feel are your main priorities.
Choose the Acoustasonic Standard if you prefer a slim Fender-style playing experience, hybrid pickup system and easier movement between acoustic and electric textures.
Who should move up to the Acoustasonic Player or American model?
Consider the Player if you need its additional selectable voices and three-way switching. The American Acoustasonic is better suited to players who want the widest onboard tonal palette, three pickup sources and five-way voice selection.
