1997 Gibson ES-335 Figured AAA Flame Yamano Semi-hollow Electric Guitar, (Used)
The 1997 Gibson ES-335 Figured AAA Flame Yamano is a semi-hollow electric guitar produced for the Japanese Yamano distributor, known for ordering high-grade wood selections and premium cosmetic specifications. It features a laminated maple body with a solid maple centre block and AAA-grade flamed maple top, back, and sides. The neck is crafted from mahogany and fitted with a bound rosewood fingerboard carrying 22 frets, dot inlays, a 24.75-inch scale length, and a traditional Gibson nut width of approximately 1.6875 inches.
Electronics consist of two humbucking pickups wired through a standard ES-335 control layout that includes individual volume and tone controls for each pickup along with a three-way toggle selector switch. Hardware includes an ABR-1 style Tune-o-matic bridge, a stopbar tailpiece, and vintage-style Kluson-type tuning machines. These components follow the conventional ES-335 architecture used throughout Gibson’s production during the 1990s.
The instrument is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer and includes single-ply body and neck binding consistent with traditional ES-335 construction details. Yamano-spec models from this period were assembled in Gibson’s Nashville facility and are identifiable by high-grade figured maple tops selected specifically for the Japanese market distribution.
