Description

Quick Product Summary

The Schecter Retro PT in Candy Apple Red combines classic single-cut styling with the punch, playability and versatility of a modern Schecter electric guitar. Built around an alder body with cream binding, a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, it delivers a familiar 25.5" scale alongside a comfortable Thin “C” profile and 22 X-Jumbo frets.

A pair of Schecter Diamond SuperRock-II humbuckers gives the Retro PT considerably more power and tonal weight than a traditional single-coil T-style guitar, while push/pull coil splitting adds brighter, more articulate sounds when required. A PT-H string-through hardtail bridge, Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL nut and Grover tuners complete a practical, versatile instrument suitable for rock, blues, alternative, indie and heavier styles.

What Makes the Schecter Retro PT Special?

The Retro PT takes one of the most familiar electric guitar shapes and gives it a distinctly Schecter character. Its alder body, cream binding and Candy Apple Red finish provide the vintage-inspired visual appeal, while the maple Thin “C” neck, 14" radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 X-Jumbo frets move the playing experience firmly into modern territory. The flatter fingerboard and substantial frets make bends and lead work particularly comfortable without compromising straightforward chord playing.

The Schecter Diamond SuperRock-II humbuckers make this considerably more versatile than a traditional single-coil T-style guitar. In full humbucker mode they provide plenty of body and output for driven rock sounds, while the push/pull control allows the pickups to be split for brighter and more cutting textures. Combined with the string-through fixed bridge, the Retro PT is a straightforward but highly flexible guitar for stage, studio and everyday playing.

Who Is It For?

The Schecter Retro PT is an excellent choice for players who like classic single-cut styling but want more power and a more contemporary playing feel than many vintage-inspired designs provide.

It works particularly well for rock, alternative, indie, blues, pop and hard rock, while its dual-humbucker electronics can comfortably handle higher-gain tones when required. The uncomplicated hardtail setup also makes it approachable for developing players while offering enough specification for experienced guitarists.

Why Choose A Dual-Humbucker PT-Style Guitar?

Traditional T-style guitars are often associated with bright single-coil sounds, but fitting a pair of humbuckers creates a fuller and more powerful response. This is especially useful for overdriven amplifiers and distortion pedals, where additional body and reduced electrical hum can be significant advantages.

The Retro PT retains additional flexibility through its push/pull coil-split control, so players are not restricted to full humbucker sounds. This makes it a useful option for musicians who need one guitar to cover both heavier rhythm parts and brighter clean or lightly driven tones.

How Does It Compare?

Compared With A Traditional T-Style Electric Guitar

The Retro PT has the familiar 25.5" scale and single-cut body concept but uses dual humbuckers, X-Jumbo frets and a flatter 14" fingerboard radius. It therefore feels and sounds more contemporary than many traditional T-style designs, particularly when using higher levels of gain.

Compared With The Schecter PT Special

The Retro PT takes a more modern dual-humbucker approach, whereas the PT Special uses a more vintage-influenced pickup and hardware configuration. Players wanting powerful rock tones and coil-splitting flexibility may prefer the Retro PT, while those seeking a more traditional PT character may favour the PT Special.
