Fender American Original ’50s Stratocaster in 2-Tone Sunburst Electric Guitar, (Used)
The Fender American Original ’50s Stratocaster in 2-Tone Sunburst is a USA-built solid-body electric guitar designed to closely recreate the feel and specification of late-1950s Stratocaster models. It features a lightweight alder body, paired with a bolt-on maple neck and maple fingerboard. The instrument uses a 25.5-inch scale length with 21 vintage-tall frets and a Soft “V” neck profile, reflecting the larger, more rounded neck shapes associated with early Fender designs.
The electronics consist of three Pure Vintage ’59 single-coil Stratocaster pickups arranged in a traditional SSS configuration. These are controlled through a five-way selector switch with master volume and dual tone controls, using period-accurate components such as cloth wiring and Alnico V magnets. The pickup set is voiced to reproduce the brighter, more articulate tonal character of late-’50s Stratocasters while still supporting modern switching combinations for expanded versatility.
Hardware includes a vintage-style six-point synchronized tremolo bridge and period-correct tuning machines, designed to maintain traditional Strat functionality with improved stability from modern manufacturing tolerances. The 2-Tone Sunburst finish is applied in nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the wood to age and resonate naturally while replicating the thinner finishes used on original 1950s instruments.
