What Makes The EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master V3 Special?
The Dispatch Master V3 combines two of the most commonly used guitar effects into one compact and straightforward pedal.
Its delay ranges from extremely short echoes through to 1500ms, while the reverb adds anything from subtle depth to large atmospheric spaces. Both effects have been designed to work naturally together, making it easy to create polished ambient tones without complicated menus or presets.
One of its standout features is the ability to produce infinite delay repeats without runaway self-oscillation, allowing sustained drones and atmospheric backgrounds without the uncontrolled feedback associated with some analogue-style delays.
Simple Four-Knob Control
Mix
Controls the balance between your dry signal and the processed delay/reverb sound.
Lower settings add subtle space behind your guitar, while higher settings create a more prominent ambient effect.
Time
Sets the delay time from approximately 0ms to 1500ms.
Short settings work well for slapback and doubling-style sounds, while longer settings create spacious rhythmic echoes and ambient textures.
Reverb
Controls the amount of reverb added to your sound.
Turn it down for a tighter, more direct response or increase it for wider, more atmospheric guitar tones.
Repeats
Controls how many times the delay signal repeats.
Higher settings can create extended and eventually infinite repeats without the pedal running into uncontrolled self-oscillation.
When using the Dispatch Master in reverb-only mode, the Repeats control also adjusts the decay, depth and tonal character of the reverb.
Delay, Reverb Or Both
One of the major strengths of the Dispatch Master V3 is that you do not have to use both effects at once.
Delay Only
Turn the Reverb control fully down and use Time, Repeats and Mix to create anything from quick slapback to long echoes.
Reverb Only
Turn Time and Repeats down and use Reverb and Mix for straightforward ambience.
The Repeats control can then be increased to alter the depth, decay and character of the reverb.
Delay & Reverb Together
Blend all four controls to build spacious guitar sounds ranging from subtle enhancement to large ambient soundscapes.
Flexi-Switch® Technology
The Dispatch Master V3 features EarthQuaker Devices' Flexi-Switch®, allowing both standard latching and momentary operation.
Tap the footswitch normally and the pedal stays active until you press it again.
Hold the footswitch down and the effect remains active only while your foot is on the switch, then bypasses when released.
This is especially useful for adding delay and reverb to a single chord, phrase or transition without leaving the effect permanently engaged.
Who Is It For?
The Dispatch Master V3 is ideal for guitarists who want a high-quality delay and reverb pedal without complicated controls or menu navigation.
It is particularly well suited to:
- Ambient guitar
- Indie
- Post-rock
- Shoegaze
- Alternative
- Worship music
- Rock
- Psychedelic guitar
- Clean guitar textures
- Lead guitar
- Studio recording
- Live performance
- Compact pedalboards
Why Choose A Combined Delay & Reverb Pedal?
Delay and reverb naturally work well together.
Delay produces distinct repeats of your original signal, while reverb creates the sense of acoustic space around those notes.
Using both can create a much larger and more atmospheric guitar sound, but two individual pedals require additional pedalboard space, cabling and power connections.
The Dispatch Master V3 combines both effects in a single enclosure while still allowing you to use either effect independently.
For players who value simplicity, it offers a practical alternative to larger multi-effects pedals and complex programmable delay/reverb units.
How It Compares
Dispatch Master V3 vs EarthQuaker Devices Avalanche Run V2
The Avalanche Run V2 offers stereo operation, tap tempo, Reverse and Swell modes and expression control, making it the more advanced option for players who want deep ambient sound design.
The Dispatch Master V3 is considerably simpler, making it ideal if you want excellent delay and reverb sounds with minimal setup.
Dispatch Master V3 vs Separate Delay & Reverb Pedals
Separate pedals give you greater freedom to choose different types of delay and reverb independently.
The Dispatch Master saves space and keeps operation simple while still allowing the two effects to be used individually or together.
Dispatch Master V3 vs A Dedicated Delay Pedal
A dedicated delay may offer tap tempo, modulation or multiple delay algorithms.
The Dispatch Master focuses instead on straightforward, great-sounding delay combined with integrated reverb, making it especially useful for players who want a compact all-purpose ambience pedal.
