Description

Quick Product Summary

The Roland RH-A7 Open-Type Headphones are designed to deliver the natural dynamics and detailed tone of a digital piano while remaining exceptionally comfortable during extended practice sessions. Their 40 mm dynamic drivers and open-air construction provide a spacious, expressive listening experience with clear highs, articulate mids and controlled bass.

At just 200 g without the cable, the RH-A7 feels light during longer playing sessions, while soft suede-finish earpads provide additional comfort. The open design also allows some external sound through, making it easier for students to hear instructions from a teacher without constantly removing their headphones.

What Makes the Roland RH-A7 Special?

The RH-A7 has been designed particularly with digital instruments in mind. Its open-air construction creates a more spacious listening experience than conventional closed headphones, helping piano sounds retain their sense of depth and dynamics from delicate passages through to powerful playing.

Comfort is another major advantage. The lightweight construction, breathable design and soft suede-finish earpads make the RH-A7 particularly well suited to longer practice sessions, piano lessons and home playing where comfort matters just as much as sound quality.

FAQs

Are the Roland RH-A7 headphones designed for digital pianos?

Yes. Roland specifically designed the RH-A7 for modern digital instruments, making them particularly well suited to digital pianos and keyboards.

Are the RH-A7 open-back headphones?

Yes. The RH-A7 uses an open-air design that allows some sound to pass through the earcups, creating a more spacious and natural listening experience.

What are the advantages of open-air headphones for piano playing?

An open design can make digital piano sounds feel more spacious and natural while also reducing the enclosed feeling associated with some closed-back headphones.

Can other people hear what I am playing?

Some sound can escape through the open earcups, particularly at higher listening levels. If maximum sound isolation is required, a closed-back model may be more suitable.

Will the RH-A7 block outside noise?

No. The open-air construction deliberately allows some external sound through. This can be useful during lessons because a student can more easily hear a teacher while wearing the headphones.

What size drivers do the RH-A7 use?

The RH-A7 features 40 mm dynamic drivers designed to reproduce the wide dynamics and tonal detail of digital instruments.

What is the impedance of the Roland RH-A7?

The RH-A7 has an impedance of 34 ohms, making it suitable for use with a wide range of compatible digital pianos, keyboards and audio equipment.

How long is the cable?

The integrated headphone cable measures 3 metres, providing plenty of reach when connected to a digital piano or keyboard.

Is a 6.3 mm jack adaptor included?

Yes. A plug adaptor is included so the RH-A7 can connect to equipment with a standard 6.3 mm / 1/4-inch headphone socket.

Are the RH-A7 comfortable for long practice sessions?

Yes. They weigh just 200 g without the cable and feature a lightweight, breathable design with soft suede-finish earpads.

Can I use the RH-A7 for ordinary music listening?

Yes. Their wide dynamic range and spacious open-air presentation also make them suitable for general music playback.

Are the RH-A7 suitable for recording vocals?

Open headphones allow more sound to escape than closed-back designs, so they are generally less suitable for microphone recording where headphone spill needs to be minimised.

Do the RH-A7 require batteries?

No. They are passive wired headphones and require no batteries or separate power source.
