The Bare Knuckle Boot Camp True Grit set is a passive humbucker design developed as part of Bare Knuckle’s Boot Camp series, aimed at delivering modern high-output performance with simplified aesthetics and manufacturing compared with the company’s hand-aged flagship lines. The pickups use ceramic magnets and overwound coils to produce a tighter, more aggressive response than traditional PAF-style humbuckers while remaining fully passive in operation. 

The tonal profile focuses on powerful upper-mid attack, controlled bass response, and strong harmonic saturation under gain. The bridge pickup delivers sharp pick articulation and tight palm-muted response suited to modern hard rock and metal rhythm playing, while the neck pickup produces a thicker lead tone with clear note separation and sustained vocal-like mids. The set maintains a more organic dynamic response than active pickups while pushing significantly more output than vintage-output humbuckers.

The True Grit set is designed for standard humbucker routing and integrates into conventional passive wiring configurations. Within the Boot Camp range, it sits between the lower-output Old Guard models and the more extreme Brute Force series, positioning it around modern rock, heavy alternative, and contemporary metal applications requiring aggressive response without the compression characteristics of active systems.
