Fender Standard Telecaster 3-Color Sunburst Electric Guitar
Description
Quick Product Summary
The Fender Standard Telecaster in 3-Color Sunburst delivers the direct response, unmistakable single-coil character and straightforward design that have made the Telecaster one of the most enduring electric guitars ever created. Featuring a poplar body, Modern C maple neck, Indian laurel fingerboard and two Fender Standard Single-Coil Tele pickups, it provides authentic Fender feel in an accessible and highly usable instrument.
A string-through-body Telecaster bridge, 25.5" scale length and simple three-position switching keep the playing experience reassuringly traditional, while the classic 3-Color Sunburst finish with white pickguard gives this Standard Telecaster timeless Fender styling.
Why Choose the Fender Standard Telecaster?
Classic Fender Telecaster Pickups
Two Fender Standard Single-Coil Tele pickups provide the clear attack, definition and dynamic response associated with the Telecaster.
The bridge position delivers the brighter, more cutting sound that works brilliantly for country, rock, indie and articulate rhythm playing, while the neck pickup offers a warmer voice for blues, cleaner passages and smoother lead tones.
Simple Three-Way Switching
Part of the Telecaster's lasting appeal is its straightforward control layout. A Master Volume, Master Tone and 3-position blade selector make it quick and intuitive to find the sound you need.
With bridge, bridge-and-neck and neck settings available, there is plenty of useful tonal variation without overcomplicating the guitar.
Comfortable Modern C Maple Neck
Fender's Modern C neck profile provides a comfortable shape suitable for chords, rhythm work, bends and lead playing.
The maple neck has a satin urethane finish on the back for a smooth playing feel, complemented by a gloss urethane headstock face for the familiar Fender appearance.
Indian Laurel Fingerboard
The Indian laurel fingerboard offers an attractive darker contrast against the maple neck and traditional sunburst body.
A 9.5-inch radius and 21 medium jumbo frets provide an excellent balance between classic Fender proportions and accessible contemporary playability.
String-Through-Body Telecaster Bridge
A Standard string-through-body Telecaster bridge with satin chrome steel block saddles provides solid string anchoring, straightforward adjustment and the immediate response expected from a Telecaster.
Its fixed-bridge design also makes the guitar an appealing option for players who value simple setup and tuning stability.
Timeless 3-Color Sunburst Finish
Few finishes suit a Telecaster quite like 3-Color Sunburst. The graduated finish emphasises the traditional outline of Fender's famous single-cutaway body while giving this Standard Series guitar a classic appearance.
A 3-ply white pickguard, chrome hardware and dark Indian laurel fingerboard complete the traditional look.
Why Choose a Telecaster?
The Telecaster has built its reputation on simplicity. Two pickups, a fixed bridge and an uncomplicated control layout give the player a highly responsive platform where picking dynamics, amplifier settings and playing technique remain at the centre of the sound.
Its distinctive character has made the Telecaster equally at home in country, blues, rock, punk, indie, pop and alternative music, making it one of the most adaptable electric guitar designs available.

Story & Context
The Fender Telecaster emerged in its recognisable form during the early 1950s and became the first commercially successful mass-produced solid-body electric guitar. Its bolt-on neck, fixed bridge, two-pickup configuration and uncomplicated construction helped establish many of the principles that would shape electric guitar design for decades.
The modern Fender Standard Series takes that fundamental formula and presents it with accessible contemporary specifications. The Standard Telecaster retains the features that matter most: two single-coil pickups, traditional Tele controls, a string-through-body bridge and the instantly recognisable Fender silhouette.

Fender Standard Telecaster Compared
Standard Telecaster vs Standard Stratocaster
The Standard Telecaster uses two single-coil pickups, three-way switching and a fixed string-through-body bridge, creating a straightforward and highly responsive playing experience.
The Standard Stratocaster offers three pickups, five-way switching, body contours and a tremolo bridge. Players wanting simplicity, strong attack and traditional Tele character may prefer the Telecaster, while those looking for tremolo effects and additional pickup combinations may favour the Stratocaster.
Standard Telecaster vs Standard HSS Stratocaster
A Standard HSS Stratocaster combines single coils with a bridge humbucker, giving it a thicker and more powerful response when using distortion.
The Standard Telecaster remains focused on traditional single-coil clarity and attack. Its bridge pickup is particularly effective for articulate rhythm work, cutting lead tones and sounds where note definition is important.
Standard Telecaster vs Higher-Priced Fender Telecasters
Higher Fender ranges can introduce different body woods, upgraded pickups, premium hardware, additional switching systems and more elaborate finishing.
The Standard Telecaster concentrates on the essential Fender experience, making it particularly attractive to players who want a genuine Fender Telecaster without paying for additional features they may not require.
