Description

Quick Product Summary

The Fender Standard Telecaster in Olympic White delivers the straightforward design, distinctive single-coil sound and instantly recognisable styling that have made the Telecaster a cornerstone of electric guitar history. Featuring a poplar body, Modern C maple neck, Indian laurel fingerboard and two Fender Standard Single-Coil Tele pickups, it provides classic Fender character in an accessible, player-friendly instrument.

Its string-through-body Telecaster bridge, 25.5" scale length and simple three-way pickup switching create the direct, responsive playing experience associated with a Tele, while the Olympic White finish and contrasting white pickguard give this model a timeless Fender appearance.

Why Choose the Fender Standard Telecaster?

Classic Two-Pickup Telecaster Sound

The Standard Telecaster features a pair of Fender Standard Single-Coil Tele pickups, giving players the familiar combination of clear bridge attack and warmer neck-pickup tones.

The three-position selector lets you quickly move between the bridge pickup, both pickups together and the neck pickup, covering everything from bright rhythm sounds to smoother blues and lead tones.

Traditional Telecaster Simplicity

One of the Telecaster's greatest strengths has always been its straightforward layout. A Master Volume, Master Tone and three-way selector provide quick, intuitive control without unnecessary complexity.

That simplicity makes the Standard Telecaster equally appealing to developing players and experienced guitarists who value an instrument that responds directly to their playing and amplifier settings.

Comfortable Modern C Neck

The maple neck uses Fender's versatile Modern C profile, providing a familiar shape that works comfortably for chords, rhythm playing and lead techniques.

A satin urethane finish on the rear of the neck helps create a smooth playing feel, while the gloss-finished headstock face maintains the familiar Fender aesthetic.

Indian Laurel Fingerboard

The Indian laurel fingerboard gives the Olympic White model a darker visual contrast against the maple neck and pale body finish.

Its 9.5-inch radius and 21 medium jumbo frets combine traditional Fender proportions with practical modern playability, making bends, chords and everyday playing comfortable across the neck.

String-Through-Body Bridge

The Standard Telecaster uses a string-through-body bridge with satin chrome steel block saddles.

This design provides solid string anchoring and individual saddle adjustment while retaining the immediate attack and direct response players expect from a Tele-style bridge.

Timeless Olympic White Finish

Olympic White is one of Fender's most enduring finishes and looks particularly natural on the classic Telecaster body shape.

Combined with a 3-ply white pickguard, chrome hardware and dark Indian laurel fingerboard, this model has a clean, understated appearance that works equally well on stage, in the studio or at home.

Why Choose a Telecaster?

The Telecaster is famous for doing more with less. Its two-pickup layout, fixed bridge and straightforward electronics produce an immediate, responsive instrument that has been used across country, blues, rock, punk, indie, pop and countless other styles.

For players who want a guitar that encourages them to concentrate on touch, dynamics and amplifier interaction rather than complicated switching systems, the Telecaster remains one of the most effective electric guitar designs ever created.

Story & Context

Introduced in its recognisable form during the early 1950s, the Fender Telecaster became the first commercially successful mass-produced solid-body electric guitar. Its bolt-on neck construction, slab-style body, two single-coil pickups and practical controls established principles that would influence electric guitar manufacturing for decades.

The modern Fender Standard Series focuses on delivering the core qualities of these historic Fender designs with accessible specifications and comfortable contemporary playability. The Standard Telecaster keeps the formula particularly straightforward with two single-coil pickups, a fixed string-through-body bridge and familiar Tele controls.

Fender Standard Telecaster Compared

Standard Telecaster vs Standard Stratocaster

The Standard Telecaster uses two single-coil pickups, a fixed string-through-body bridge and three-way switching, creating a direct and focused playing experience.

The Standard Stratocaster offers three pickups, five-way switching, body contours and a tremolo bridge, giving it a wider conventional range of pickup combinations. Players wanting simplicity and traditional Tele attack may prefer the Telecaster, while those wanting tremolo and additional pickup choices may favour the Strat.

Telecaster vs HSS Stratocaster

An HSS Stratocaster adds a humbucker at the bridge for thicker, higher-output sounds. The Standard Telecaster stays firmly in traditional single-coil territory, providing greater emphasis on clarity, attack and dynamic response.

For country, indie, blues, clean rhythm and classic rock tones, the Tele's straightforward SS layout remains extremely effective.

Standard Telecaster vs Higher-Priced Fender Telecasters

Higher Fender ranges can offer alternative body woods, upgraded pickups, different fret specifications, premium hardware and additional switching features.

The Standard Telecaster focuses instead on delivering the essential Fender Telecaster experience in a simple and accessible format, making it a strong choice for players who do not require the additional appointments of Fender's premium models.
