The Gibson Custom Shop ’59 Les Paul Standard Reissue in Iced Tea Burst is a USA-built solidbody electric guitar designed to closely replicate the construction and specifications of original 1959 Les Paul Standards. It features a lightweight mahogany body with a carved, figured maple top, finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. The neck is a set mahogany construction with a long tenon joint and a late-’50s rounded profile, paired with a rosewood fingerboard, 24.75-inch scale length, and 22 frets.

The electronics consist of two Custombucker humbuckers using Alnico III magnets, wired through a traditional Les Paul control layout with independent volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way selector switch. This configuration is designed to replicate vintage PAF-style tonal characteristics, offering balanced output, strong midrange presence, and dynamic response depending on playing intensity and amplifier interaction.

Hardware includes an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, a lightweight aluminium stopbar tailpiece, and vintage-style Kluson tuners, all aligned with late-1950s specifications. The overall construction avoids modern weight relief and focuses on historically accurate materials and build techniques, resulting in an instrument that prioritises vintage tone, resonance, and traditional feel over contemporary features.
