The Line 6 POD Pro with Floorboard is a rack-mounted digital amp modelling and multi-effects system designed for studio and live use, paired with a dedicated foot controller for hands-free operation. The POD Pro itself is a 2U rack unit that expands on the original POD concept, offering 24-bit processing, upgraded A/D and D/A conversion, and a professional I/O layout. It includes 32 amplifier models, multiple cabinet simulations, and a range of built-in digital effects, all of which can be stored across user presets for recall in performance or recording situations.

The unit is built around Line 6’s early modelling architecture, designed to emulate the behaviour of classic valve amplifiers and speaker cabinets within a digital format. It provides extensive connectivity, including balanced XLR outputs, unbalanced jack outputs, digital AES/EBU and S/PDIF connections, MIDI control, and stereo effects loops. These features allow integration into both studio recording setups and live rigs, functioning as a preamp, processor, or direct recording interface.

The accompanying Floorboard controller connects via an Ethernet-style cable and enables remote control of presets, parameter adjustments, and effect toggling without needing to access the rack unit directly. It includes multiple footswitches and an expression pedal for real-time control, effectively turning the POD Pro into a stage-ready system. Together, the rack unit and floorboard form a complete modelling rig designed to centralise amplifier tones, effects processing, and performance control within a single integrated setup.
