Roland GP-6-PW Digital Grand Piano Polished White
Description
Quick Product Summary
The Roland GP-6-PW combines the elegant presence of a baby grand piano with Roland's sophisticated digital piano technology. Finished in striking Polished White, its compact grand-style cabinet provides a luxurious centrepiece while occupying considerably less space than a full-size acoustic grand.
Roland's Piano Reality Modeling sound engine works alongside the acclaimed 88-note PHA-50 Hybrid keyboard and five-speaker Piano Reality Projection system to deliver an expressive, immersive playing experience. Bluetooth, recording facilities, extensive onboard sounds and detailed Piano Designer controls add modern versatility without compromising the GP-6's traditional piano appearance.
What Makes the Roland GP-6-PW Special?
The GP-6 brings much of Roland's flagship grand-piano technology into a more compact baby-grand format. Piano Reality Modeling recreates the complex behaviour of an acoustic instrument in real time, while unlimited polyphony for solo Piano-category tones allows notes, resonances and sustained passages to develop naturally without note stealing.
Its PHA-50 Hybrid keyboard combines wood and moulded materials with progressive hammer action, escapement, Ebony/Ivory Feel surfaces and high-precision sensing. The five-speaker Piano Reality Projection system then distributes sound throughout the cabinet and surrounding space, creating an immersive experience that feels substantially larger than the GP-6's compact footprint suggests.
Who Is It For?
The Roland GP-6-PW is ideal for home pianists, advanced players, families, teachers and musicians who want the visual impact of a grand piano without the size, tuning requirements and maintenance associated with an acoustic instrument.
Its Polished White finish is particularly suited to contemporary interiors, premium living spaces, music rooms, studios and teaching environments where appearance is as important as performance.

FAQs
What is the Roland GP-6?
The GP-6 is a premium digital baby grand piano, combining Roland's Piano Reality technologies with a more compact grand-style cabinet than the larger GP-9.
How does the GP-6 differ from the GP-9?
The GP-6 uses the PHA-50 Hybrid keyboard and a five-speaker Piano Reality Projection system, while the flagship GP-9 uses Roland's more advanced Hybrid Grand keyboard and a larger eight-speaker system. The GP-9 also has a substantially larger grand-piano cabinet.
Does the Roland GP-6 use weighted keys?
Yes. The 88-note PHA-50 Hybrid keyboard uses progressive hammer action, providing heavier response in the lower register and progressively lighter action towards the treble.
Is the GP-6 suitable for advanced players?
Yes. Its PHA-50 keyboard, high-precision sensing, sophisticated pedal system and Piano Reality Modeling sound engine make it suitable for experienced and advanced pianists.
Does the GP-6 need regular tuning?
No. As a digital instrument, the GP-6 remains in tune and does not require the regular professional tuning associated with an acoustic grand piano.
Does the lid open?
Yes. The GP-6 features an opening grand-style top lid, allowing it to recreate much of the appearance and presentation of an acoustic baby grand.
Can I use headphones?
Yes. The GP-6 provides two headphone connections, allowing two compatible pairs of headphones to be connected simultaneously.
Does the GP-6 support Bluetooth?
Yes. Bluetooth Audio allows music from a compatible smartphone or tablet to be played through the piano's speaker system, while Bluetooth MIDI provides wireless communication with compatible music apps.
Can I record my playing?
Yes. The GP-6 offers onboard MIDI recording and can also record WAV audio directly to compatible USB flash storage.
Can I customise the piano sound?
Yes. Roland's Piano Designer provides extensive adjustment of elements including string resonance, hammer noise, cabinet resonance, tuning and individual note characteristics.
Can the GP-6 connect to a computer?
Yes. The USB Computer connection supports compatible MIDI and audio communication with computers and music software.
Is a piano bench included?
No. A piano bench is not included with the Roland GP-6-PW and can be purchased separately.
Is the GP-6 suitable for lessons?
Yes. TwinPiano can divide the keyboard into two matching pitch ranges, allowing a teacher and student to play side-by-side. Dual headphone outputs are also useful for private lessons.
How much does the Roland GP-6 weigh?
The GP-6 weighs approximately 91kg, making it significantly lighter than a traditional acoustic baby grand piano.
How much space does the GP-6 require?
With the lid closed and music rest fitted, the GP-6 measures approximately 1,404mm wide, 959mm deep and 931mm high, making it much more compact than a conventional full-size grand piano.
