Description

Quick Product Summary

The Roland GP-9M-PW is Roland’s flagship digital grand piano for players, premium homes, performance spaces and entertainment venues. Finished in striking Polished White, it combines concert-level digital piano technology with the presence and proportions of a luxury grand piano.

At its heart are Roland’s Piano Reality Modeling sound engine, 88-note Hybrid Grand keyboard and Piano Reality Projection speaker system. The GP-9M goes further than the standard GP-9 with self-moving keys, professional XLR outputs and a dedicated microphone input, making it a remarkable instrument for both serious piano performance and sophisticated entertainment.

What Makes the Roland GP-9M-PW Special?

The GP-9M is designed to recreate the expressive response of a concert grand without the tuning and maintenance requirements of an acoustic instrument. Its Hybrid Grand keyboard combines progressive hammer action, escapement, Ebony/Ivory Feel surfaces, high-precision sensing and haptic key vibration, while Piano Reality Modeling recreates the complex interaction of strings, resonances, cabinet behaviour and pedalling.

Its standout feature is the moving-key system, which allows compatible onboard songs, MIDI files and player-piano content to physically operate the keyboard for automated performances. Add an eight-speaker projection system, Bluetooth connectivity, microphone input and assignable professional XLR outputs, and the GP-9M becomes equally suited to luxury homes, hotels, restaurants, event spaces and professional performance environments.

Who Is It For?

The Roland GP-9M-PW is ideal for advanced pianists, professional musicians and discerning home players who want flagship digital piano performance combined with the appearance of a full-size grand piano.

Its moving-key capability and professional connectivity also make it particularly attractive for hotels, restaurants, venues, hospitality environments and entertainment spaces, where the piano can provide both live and automated musical performances.

FAQs

What is the difference between the Roland GP-9M and GP-9?

The GP-9M builds on the flagship GP-9 specification with several features aimed at entertainment and professional installations. Most notably, it adds moving keys, assignable professional XLR audio outputs and a dedicated microphone input.

Does the Roland GP-9M have self-playing keys?

Yes. The GP-9M features a motorised moving-key system that physically operates the keyboard when playing compatible MIDI and player-piano material.

Can I play the GP-9M normally like a traditional piano?

Yes. Despite its moving-key functionality, the GP-9M is first and foremost a high-end performance instrument with Roland's flagship Hybrid Grand keyboard and Piano Reality Modeling technology.

Is the Roland GP-9M suitable for professional pianists?

Yes. The combination of high-precision keyboard sensing, progressive hammer action, detailed piano modelling, sophisticated pedal response and powerful multi-speaker projection makes it suitable for demanding players.

Can the GP-9M connect to a professional PA system?

Yes. In addition to conventional audio outputs, the GP-9M includes assignable stereo XLR outputs for direct connection to professional sound systems.

Does the GP-9M have a microphone input?

Yes. A dedicated input for a dynamic microphone allows vocals to be reproduced through the piano's onboard sound system.

Can I connect headphones?

Yes. Two headphone connections are provided, making the piano suitable for private practice and teaching situations.

Does the GP-9M support Bluetooth?

Yes. Bluetooth Audio lets you stream music through the piano's speaker system, while Bluetooth MIDI provides wireless communication with compatible music applications.

Does the GP-9M need regular tuning?

No. Because the GP-9M uses digital sound generation, it does not require the regular professional tuning associated with an acoustic grand piano.

Can I customise the piano tone?

Yes. Roland's Piano Designer technology allows detailed adjustment of parameters including string resonance, cabinet resonance, hammer noise, tuning and individual note characteristics.

Is a piano bench included?

No. A piano bench is not included with the GP-9M-PW and can be purchased separately.

How heavy is the Roland GP-9M?

The piano weighs approximately 188kg. Its integrated casters assist with positioning, but suitable access and handling arrangements should be considered before delivery.

Is the lid adjustable?

Yes. Like an acoustic grand piano, the lid can be positioned at different heights to alter the instrument's presentation and acoustic projection characteristics.

Is the Roland GP-9M suitable for commercial venues?

Yes. Its automated moving-key performances, professional XLR connectivity, microphone input, powerful speaker system and striking grand-piano cabinet make it particularly well suited to hotels, restaurants, hospitality venues and entertainment spaces.
