What Makes the Schecter C-1 Standard Special?
The C-1 Standard offers many of the characteristics players associate with Schecter’s modern performance guitars in a straightforward, accessible format. Its mahogany body and flamed maple top give the Blood Burst finish plenty of visual depth, complemented by black binding and hardware. The multi-ply roasted maple and Purpleheart neck incorporates carbon-fibre reinforcement for additional stability, while the Thin “C” profile, 14" radius rosewood fingerboard and 24 jumbo frets create a smooth platform for chords, riffs, bends and faster lead techniques.
The electronics are deliberately uncomplicated. A pair of Schecter Diamond Standard humbuckers with black metal covers provides a strong, full-bodied response capable of handling everything from clean amp settings to heavily distorted rock and metal tones. Master volume and tone controls with a three-way selector keep operation intuitive, while the Diamond hardtail bridge provides the stability and simplicity many players prefer from an everyday performance guitar.
Who Is It For?
The Schecter C-1 Standard is an excellent option for beginners and developing guitarists looking for their first serious electric guitar, while offering enough playability and tonal capability to remain useful for intermediate and experienced musicians.
Its dual-humbucker configuration makes it particularly well suited to rock, hard rock, alternative and metal, while the neck pickup and combined pickup position provide useful options for cleaner playing, melodic leads, songwriting and recording.
Why Choose A Dual-Humbucker Hardtail Guitar?
A dual-humbucker guitar provides a fuller and generally more powerful response than a traditional single-coil design while naturally reducing unwanted electrical hum. This makes the format particularly effective for overdrive, distortion and higher-gain amplifier sounds.
Combining those pickups with a fixed bridge keeps the instrument straightforward to maintain. String changes and tuning adjustments are simpler than on many floating tremolo systems, making the C-1 Standard a practical choice for practice, rehearsal, recording and live performance.
How Does It Compare?
Compared With The C-1 Standard Plus
The C-1 Standard Plus moves further towards premium appointments and upgraded electronics, while the C-1 Standard focuses on delivering the core Schecter experience at a more accessible level. The Blood Burst Standard still retains attractive features including its flamed maple top, reinforced roasted maple/Purpleheart neck and 24-fret layout.
Compared With A Floyd Rose-Equipped Schecter
A Floyd Rose model provides extensive control over pitch but requires additional setup and maintenance. The C-1 Standard uses a Schecter Diamond hardtail bridge, making it the more straightforward choice for players who do not require dive bombs or other tremolo effects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Its fixed bridge, simple control layout and comfortable Thin “C” neck make the C-1 Standard approachable for newer players, while its 24-fret layout and dual humbuckers provide plenty of scope as their playing develops.
Is the C-1 Standard suitable for metal?
Yes. The Schecter Diamond Standard humbuckers provide the output and full-bodied response required for distorted rock and metal tones.
What pickups are fitted?
The guitar uses a pair of Schecter Diamond Standard humbuckers with black metal covers, with one in the bridge position and one at the neck.
Are the pickups active?
No. The Diamond Standard pickups are passive humbuckers, so the guitar does not require a battery for normal operation.
Does the C-1 Standard have coil splitting?
No. The electronics use a straightforward master volume, master tone and three-way pickup selector layout without coil splitting.
Does the Blood Burst model have a flamed maple top?
Yes. The guitar features a flamed maple top over its mahogany body, with the transparent Blood Burst finish showcasing the figuring of the maple.
What is the neck made from?
The current C-1 Standard Blood Burst features a multi-ply roasted maple and Purpleheart neck with carbon-fibre reinforcement rods.
What is the neck profile like?
Schecter uses its Thin “C” profile, measuring approximately 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the twelfth. It provides a comfortable contemporary feel suited to both rhythm and lead playing.
