What Makes the Schecter C-1 Standard Plus Special?
The C-1 Standard Plus takes Schecter’s established double-cutaway platform and combines it with a particularly attractive mahogany and flamed maple body construction. The Trans Purple Burst finish allows the figuring of the maple top to remain clearly visible, while black binding and Satin Chrome hardware provide a clean modern contrast. A three-piece roasted maple Thin “C” neck and matching roasted maple fingerboard give the guitar an equally distinctive feel, with a flat 14" radius and 24 jumbo frets providing plenty of room for bends, vibrato and faster lead techniques.
A pair of Schecter Richter-6 humbuckers keeps the electronics powerful but uncomplicated. The bridge pickup provides the attack and definition needed for riffs and driven rhythm work, while the neck position offers a smoother voice for leads and cleaner passages. A Schecter Diamond hardtail bridge, graphite nut and straightforward master volume, master tone and three-way selector make this an easy guitar to set up, understand and rely on.
Who Is It For?
The Schecter C-1 Standard Plus is an excellent choice for developing, intermediate and experienced guitarists who want a modern six-string with a quality specification but without unnecessarily complicated electronics or tremolo hardware.
Its dual-humbucker layout makes it particularly well suited to rock, hard rock, alternative and metal, while the straightforward controls and naturally versatile pickup combination make it equally useful for general practice, songwriting, recording and live performance.
Why Choose A Modern Hardtail Electric Guitar?
A fixed bridge provides a simple and dependable platform for players who do not require tremolo effects. Restringing, setup adjustments and tuning changes are generally more straightforward than with a floating locking tremolo, making a hardtail guitar particularly practical for everyday use.
The C-1 Standard Plus combines this simplicity with a modern 24-fret neck and dual humbuckers, giving players plenty of performance capability without adding hardware that they may never use.
How Does It Compare?
Compared With A Basic Entry-Level Electric Guitar
The C-1 Standard Plus adds several features that make it a compelling step up from a basic starter instrument, including a flamed maple top, three-piece roasted maple neck, roasted maple fingerboard and 24-fret modern layout. It is well suited to players buying their first serious electric guitar or upgrading from an entry-level model.
Compared With A Floyd Rose-Equipped Schecter
A Floyd Rose model offers extensive pitch effects and tremolo techniques, but it requires more involved restringing and setup. The C-1 Standard Plus uses a fixed Schecter Diamond bridge instead, making it the more straightforward choice for players who prioritise easy maintenance, tuning changes and stable rhythm performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Schecter C-1 Standard Plus suitable for metal?
Yes. The Richter-6 humbuckers provide enough power and definition for high-gain rock and metal tones, while the 24-fret neck and relatively flat 14" fingerboard radius suit modern playing techniques.
What pickups are fitted?
The C-1 Standard Plus uses a pair of Schecter Richter-6 humbuckers, with one at the bridge and one at the neck.
Are the Richter-6 pickups active?
No. They are passive humbuckers, so the guitar does not require a battery for normal operation.
Does the C-1 Standard Plus have coil splitting?
No. This model uses a deliberately straightforward electronics layout with master volume, master tone and a three-way pickup selector.
Is the neck roasted maple?
Yes. The guitar features a three-piece roasted maple neck together with a roasted maple fingerboard.
What is the benefit of roasted maple?
Roasting removes moisture from the maple through a controlled heat-treatment process. It also gives the wood its distinctive darker appearance and is widely valued for its stability and smooth feel.
What is the neck profile like?
The C-1 Standard Plus uses Schecter’s Thin “C” profile, measuring approximately 20mm at the first fret and 22mm at the twelfth. It provides a modern but supportive feel for both rhythm and lead playing.
How many frets does it have?
The guitar features 24 jumbo frets, giving the player a complete two-octave fretting range on each string.
Does the Trans Purple Burst version have a flamed maple top?
Yes. The guitar combines a mahogany body with a flamed maple top, with the transparent purple burst finish showcasing the figuring of the maple.
Does it have a tremolo?
No. The C-1 Standard Plus uses a Schecter Diamond hardtail bridge, making it a fixed-bridge guitar.
Is a hardtail bridge good for alternative tunings?
Yes. A fixed bridge generally makes tuning changes considerably simpler than they would be on a floating tremolo system, making the C-1 Standard Plus a practical option for players who experiment with different tunings.
What scale length does it use?
The guitar has a 25.5" scale length, providing familiar string tension and a responsive feel for modern rhythm and lead playing.
What strings are fitted from the factory?
Schecter specifies Ernie Ball Regular Slinky #2221 strings in .010-.046 gauge.
Is a hardcase included?
No. The compatible Schecter SGR-1C Premium Moulded Hardcase, item 1620, is available separately.
